Sorry you're in pain Knit Witch and it's just adding insult to injury that it makes you put on weight too
I got some shoes today. In fact I got two pairs because I couldn't choose between themI think I might want to change between afternoon/evening just to give my feet a break because I'm not used to dressy shoes, I tend to wear trainers outside and slippers inside. Anyway, at least I've got them and they weren't overly expensive. Just got to wait for the handbag I ordered to turn up. It was a non delivery and allegedly the seller has sent another one. I'll believe it when I see it. But I have some time so I'll just have to look around again if it doesn't come.
I'm tired now walking round The Mall and trying stuff on. I hope that counts as exercise. I did my usual walk this morning too and some gardening.0 -
Hoping you're in less pain very soon KW
L - 2 slices Nimble spread with ff yogurt, filled with lettuce, cucumber tomato and a dab of rf mayo
D - jacket with rf cheese, stir-fry of broccoli, green pepper, grated carrot, mushrooms
S - twix bar - blame neighbour, she bought it for me. Melon, apple
E - 5 x 5 mins treadmill at 2.5mph
Sweet dreams0 -
Knitwitch how frustrating a gain! I don't think it's possible to put on 9lbs of actual weight in 3 days though, so I hope it will disappear soon when you're off the pills! And I hope the pills are super-effectiveI tell myself that other people aren't really that interested in what I'm drinking, but the thing about alcohol is that sometimes people DO have opinions on what I'm drinking...and it's always the heavier drinkers, and it's always negative...like you're being a spoil sport by not drinking as much as them. (whereas as sparrer says, we can have just as much fun without getting drunk).
I sympathise with this. I once gave up drinking because of medication, and it was a real eye opener to the habits of others. People will go the extra mile when you can't drink (e.g. for religious reasons), but I think if you simply choose not to drink, they react differently. Suddenly shots get put in front of you, and then some. I think it's to make them feel less self conscious about their own drinking really.
Long weekend over. I have mixed thoughts about it - it wasn't the worst weekend ever, but there were still a few treats. It was my OH's birthday, so I bought heavily cream-frosted cupcakes instead of birthday cake, and we also went for a curry and pizza hut buffet (not on the same day!) to celebrate - this is what happens when you tell the OH it's his birthday and he can choose to eat wherever he wants! Will be off to the gym tomorrow evening for a bit of damage control.
I'm looking forward to the next challenge now.0 -
KW: I too think those pounds will go once you are off the pills and back in shape..which hopefully will be soon!
Very pleased with myself yesterday:
I have already filled today's diary on MFP:
B: Coffee + Porridge, honey, half whole milk/half water
S: 1 cup cake (colleague's bday)
L: [STRIKE]1/2 portion[/STRIKE] Creamy tarragon pork on tiny bit of pasta More like 1 whole portion[STRIKE]Red lentils soup[/STRIKE]. Not going to have any bread. Red lentils became 5 spoonfuls of broccoli and stilton soup accompanied by a big lettuce/carrot/cucumber salad. Still no bread.
E: [STRIKE]30[/STRIKE] 40 mins high intensity aerobics [STRIKE]+ 30 mins pilates[/STRIKE] I started that but was too knackered!
I will have to stick to it no matter what!! Will update you later if I really have.
Have a good day!
That High Intensity stuff got me so tired! I went to bed at 21.55!! :rotfl:
Decided to go for the big salad as I wouldn't have had any fruit and veg otherwise!
Have a good day everyone!!

I'm now very stubborn, and do exactly what I want...I've some new friends who are also big drinkers, but they respect that I can't drink much (one even lets me mix my own drink because I'm such a lightweight and can't manage her strong drinks
)
I won't tell people I'm allergic or teetotal, because I like to have a couple if I'm out, but I can't handle any more, and I don't like feeling ill.
So I think we should all stick up for ourselves and drink *exactly* what we want, whether that's none at all, a little or a lot :T
Looked at mfp, and they don't list decorating on their exercise list..."cooking or food preparation" is listed! as is riding on a lawnmower, surely that's just sitting down???
Oh well, I hope I've burnt up a few calories because it's eating into my walking time.
Just wanted to say :T:T about the drinking and Im going to take a leaf out of your book and just do/drink what I want!!
Also :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:riding on a lawnmower!!!!!! Must be an American app!!

I think you're right, I sometimes think it would be easier to say I don't drink at all, but why should I not have the one or two I fancy?
Some people are just judgemental, implying that their way of drinking is better, and you're a party pooper if you don't join in. I'm not bothered if others want to get drunk, but from past experiences in my life I know that I will never get involved with someone who gets drunk regularly, it's a real deal breaker for me now.
And of course the other annoyance is that if you don't drink on a night out (living rural means I often have to take the car) you're expected to drive all the drunk people home...what's that all about???
I've done ok calorie-wise today, but I've not eaten well.
Been busy all day ,and not had much time in the house to sort meals. Lunch was a bowl of muesli and a cereal bar, and tea was a toasted cheese and pickle sandwich and a packet of crisps
I don't think I've eaten anything green all week. Yesterday had macaroni cheese, I tried putting the pasta in a wide necked flask with boiling water and left it while I finished my painting...it cooked with out needing to go on the hob.
I know my menu's bad because DS1 is away, no need to make a proper meal. And I also know I should look after myself as well as I look after him.
I have the utmost admiration for any of you on here who cook only for yourselves, it's really hard to make the effort sometimes.
sparrer, your menus always look so healthy
Have Secret eaters on in the background...I know we can all be caught out by a high calorie food, but really, how can they not know they're eating piles and piles of fattening takeaway rubbish?
How are they expecting to lose weight eating chocolates and pasties and cakes and fry ups, and platefuls so large the presenter said "they need there own planning permission?"
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -

I watched it as well and thought :eek::eek::eek:, granted I am vegetarian but the plates of food they had (and the people at the carvery) would have fed me for a week!Must use my stash up!0 -

I watch this aswell, I think its amazing that they claim not to remember what they've eaten
But really....how do you not know the energy drinks are pure sugar or that the museli you take to work in a tupperware tub turns into a full on fry up by the time you get there!
And dont get me started on the mashed potato, or was it butter & cream cheese with a bit of potato on the side :rotfl:0
