My first official post-Christmas weigh in today, and I'm 6 pounds heavier than I was on Christmas Eve ! I'm quite disgusted with myself for this, but I did think I would put on at least 7 pounds so it's slightly better than I expected, and when I weighed myself on Wednesday I was 3 pounds heavier than I am now.
DS and his GF came for New Year so I sent them home with a lot of the 'naughties', as they are not so bothered about their weight. I also gave the last 2 mince pies, and a piece of chocolate log, to my dad to take home (he also ate 3 mince pies on New Year's eve, so I only got to eat one). I resisted the urge to get a big 'traditional' tin of roses, but did get a small box of them, which we still have unopened, and we still have a chocolate orange and a pack of after eights to eat, but if we pace ourselves we should be ok, lol!
Another problem is the 'naughty cupboard' at work, where we have about 5 boxes of chocolates which we had given to us, I had to shut the cupboard when I was on my own the other day so I wouldn't be tempted to have any more, as I'd already had a few !
I'm in for the next challenge and I will go for 12lbs, good luck everyone!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

I started my 5:2 diet this week so weighed myself this morning and I have lost 2lb, should I count this, knit witch?
I had a naughty day as I ate 3 chocolates at work, 2 biscuits as well as my homemade soup, fresh pineapple and yogurt. Also had biscuits, nuts and Xmas choccies at home, grrrrrr
I must now be good over the weekend. The great thing is as I have joined the frugal challenge as well I don't want to go out and buy anything much. When I went to the shop tonight I put some Xmas chocs in my trolley but took them out before I got to the checkout. I have 2 tins full of sweets so why do I feel the urge to buy more?
I walked to singing tonight so have had a little exercise today.

Hello everyone. I have done my initial weigh in, crikey!
If anyone has tips, could they also post them on here?
I started listening to some of the cut the fat podcasts yesterday. While some of it was just not practical for my lifestyle, I took away a few good points.
1. Get back to basics - don't look at it as a diet but a healthy lifestyle.
2. Soup keeps you fuller longer, rather than just eating the plate of veggies.
3. Don;t eat too little ( I do worry when I see what some of you girls post that you have eaten)Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
I was quite pleased with my day yesterday and eating went to plan although I did leave some of my dinner as I have a chesty cough at the moment so really could not stomach it all. Because of that exercise was obviously limited as well. Feeling a little better today so intend to go for a long walk later on. My menu for today reads
B- Toast and a satsuma
L- HM Thai Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup with crackers
D- Courgette and Red Onion Risotto with salad followed by Apple0 -
Sounds like everyone is very fired up with this challenge. I made a list of all the meals I could think of yesterday for chicken, beef, lamb, pork, vegetarian and game so I will sit down with OH tomorrow and meal plan as organisation will be the key.
Also stocked up on some WW ready meals for times when we are really stuck as we do have a habit of getting takeaway when we CBA or don't have anything organised. Not very MSE but they were on offer in Lidl for 99p so not as bad as it could have been and also means OH is sorted for next weekend when I am away.
Weighed in this morning, am 12 stone 3.6lb which at 5ft 3 is not good, however I have lost almost 2lb this week so already off to a good start
ETA, Muddles that soup sounds lovely, did you make it?0 -
Its absolutely gorgeous Kate and so easy. I don't bother grating, just cook for a little longer and also add two carrots.
