Had a good day on the 5:2 ate an apple, satsuma, stir fry veg and fresh salmon. Feeling quite good. I should check the calories but I want to eat healthy and use up what we have so will focus on the calories later. OH was good as well so fingers crossed we have a reduction tomorrow. I have to say it was easier being at work.
Watched tv programme about 50 lies about food and diet what an eye opener. I will no longer buy salad leaves in a bag, I will not be using any margarine ever again as I don't want poison in my body and the stuff in diet drinks and yogurts is some chemical associated with agent orange. OMG such a shock.
So this tread is just what I need losing weight by eating healthily with not a diet product in sight, thanks guys

Thank you N2BT, very weary but this too shall pass, as they say. On the bright side Spring isn't far away now which will perk everyone's spirits up.
All set to start on the challenge, good luck everyone. We can, and will, do it0 -
Hi. I'd love to join your challenge please, if not too late?
If it's ok, I'd like to aim for 12lbs, hopefully achievable by cutting out sugary snacks and getting back into a routine of an hours' walking 5 days a week.
I got a really nasty shock when I stood on the scales yesterday0 -
Ok, faced the Christmas damage, am 84.3 Kg (13st. 4lbs).
I am chasing the elusive 79.9 Kg (12st 8lbs).
So can I be put in the challenge for 10 lbs (have I done the maths right?) in 12 weeks, it should be feasible even for me. I hope. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
So it begins! My starting weight is 11-12 and my waist 38 inches :embarasse. I am 5 ft 4, in my late 50's and eventually would like to get back to around 9-4. I am relatively a creature of habits with my breakfast and lunch and don't snack between meals but the evening lets me down badly. I suffer from portion distortion plating up my dinner and quite often succumb to a few glasses of wine. I still have a little of Christmas goodies here mainly cheese, ice-cream and a little chocolate so cannot wait until it all goes. I actually do not have a problem with chocolate so never worry if I actually have the odd piece but BREAD products are a real addiction and I try not to keep much of that in the house. My meals for the day are as follows
B- toasted Muffin and some Greek Yoghurt with Honey
L- HM Parsnip, Apple and Ginger soup with small roll
D- Salmon fishcake, sweet potato and large salad
I will maybe have a little ginger icecream for dessert0 -
Good Morning chums ,STS from before Christmas but now need to drop some more weight so its back on the wagon for me and I'd like to lose 12lbs in the next 12 weeks so please can you add me to the list
Cheers chums .Put/give away the Christmas goodies, and fruit and veg are going to figure more on the menu.Life gets back to normal again. Most of the extras have gone now and my fridge is looking more as it should.Roll on the spring and hopefully get rid of the wet'n'windy weather
Cheers everyone good luck for 2014 to you all

Is everyone raring to go?
Weighed myself this morning to get my correct starting weight...I am the same as before christmas, so very pleased with that.
It wasn't easy, I seemed to be constantly denying myself christmas goodies, but I really didn't want to undo what I've achieved so far.
I really hope I reach target weight in 2014
Muddles, love the phrase "I suffer from portion distortion"...think I sometimes have a bit of that too
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Hello, can I join in please.
I lost quite a lot of weight about 16-18 months ago by joining you all on the challenge, I then stopped joining in and have put it all back on, plus a little bit more!!!!
So, this week I'm back to portion control and trying to increase my exercise. I'd like to try for 14lbs in the 12 weeks. Will weigh myself tomorrow and post as often as I can. Good Luck everyone. xSuccess is a journey, not a destination0 -

The only time it is too late to join is the last week of the challenge so no problems and 12 pounds logged down ready!Must use my stash up!0
