    Hi
Can I join? Aiming to lose 28 lb in the next year, have been meaning to for the last 3 year!! I will succeed this year.

Hello I would love to join. To give you all some back ground, I have always been normal/touch overweight - I am 5'10 so actually can weigh a fair amount. I tried every fad diet etc going and yo-yo'd for years.
I;ve had 3 children and at my heaviest was 17 stone when pregnant and 16 afterwards. I sat at 14 stone for a long time. I finally broke that about 15 months ago - exercise and healthy eating. In the last six months I've got down to a normal BMI and even the trousers I bought in September are big.
I really need help to keep going and I'd like to shift another stone and then I would be as light as I was 18 years ago! I think another half stone would be realistic though as it wants to stick now!
I have found christmas really hard and slipped up and put on 2lbs. The trouble for me is work - with daily cakes and treats and lots of young people who can eat whatever they want!

Of course you can join! If you want to join in the challenge I just need to know how much you hope to lose in the next 12 weeks (and the challenge starts this coming Saturday)
    Must use my stash up!

I'd love to join please. I need to lose 1 1/2 - 2 stones but I'm going to break that up into smaller amounts to make it easier not to lose heart. I will weigh on Sat morning and state my first amount then.

Okay I will add you to the list and will wait for the target amount :D

Hello, i'd like to join you all, please?

I aim to lose 14 pounds in the 12 week challenge. I am determined to eat healthily as I have at least 3 stone to lose, and I want them shifted before my 50th birthday in September. Also, my doctor will be happy if he actually sees an improvement in my health stats.

Good luck to all. Off to subscribe to this thread so that I don't get lost!

Can I put myself down for 7lbs in the next 12 weeks please. I know that doesn't sound a lot but I would be back to the weight I was 14 years ago!

He he, have got my spreadsheet all set up so I'm ready to start :D I do love a good spreadsheet.

Not too bad a day today; poached eggs on wholemeal toast, brown rice with some chorizo and tomatoes for lunch and beef casserole with rice for dinner. Three satsumas for snacks.

On the plus side, I managed to cook only enough rice for dinner and not huge portions either; portion control is my biggest issue :o

My OH is the same with Jaffa Cakes. If I send him round, you won't even know you had any jaffa cakes!

I've sufficiently confused myself today - watched a documentary basically arguing for veganism, which suggests meat and dairy is what makes us fat/ill. On the other hand, I've been picking through my low carb cook book, which is high in proteins/meats, and which talks about how healthy the people are. No idea!

Well at the very least I intend to make sure I drink 2L of water a day (will try to fill 4 bottles in the morning and keep them in the fridge, so I can see them go down). I'll impart portion control on my carbohydrates too.

I think everyone is different, I am ill if I do low carb, but my Mum flourishes on it!

Happy 2014 all! Sorry to be the last one to give the weight, when does the challenge end? I know it starts on 4th Jan, but how long do we have to lose?

Tomorrow I weigh myself (scary) and will know the Christmas damage, then will post my challenge.

Meanwhile today was my first day back on a reasonable diet (as in daily diet not as in slimming one), and am quite pleased. Here it is:

    B. 2 tbsps ground linseed, few blueberries, Kefir (a sort of liquidy yogurt), cinnamon, 1 chopped fig, all mixed in.
    L. Small tuna mayo salad
    S. handful walnuts
    D. Smoked mackerel filet, 1/4 red and 1/4 green cabbage, steamed and dressed with olive oil, mixed salad with seeds and olive oil.

Exercise: long walk, 1 hour yoga

    Good night all
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
