  • Good Morning all and Happy Corporate love day.

Had a ropey few days but firmly back on track now.

    Today's plan

    B: Cereal bar, satsuma
L: wrap with low fat soft cheese and roasted peppers. Shape yogurt, grapes, banana if really hungry.
D: Vegi Haggis, turnip, little bit of mash

Snacks: satsumas, a choc cupcake for tonight (bought by OH for me so can hardly say no!)

Still in lots of pain with this foot so no gym this week. Anyone any suggestions for exercise I can do that doesn't involve using my feet! xx
  • Morning all

    Happy :heartpuls Day !

Breakfast: Luxury fruit muesli + ss milk
    Lunch: strawb yog
Dinner: Making a meal for 2 - Salmon en croute with prawn + wine sauce, new pots + veg. Dessert: small slice of pecan meringue roulade (yumm)
Drinks: glass of red wine, water and black tea + lemon slice

I am resisting any chocs or other goodies as the meal is my treat for this week along with a gorgeous bunch of mixed tulips ( my fave ) :D

    Have a lovely day

    DC xx

I have managed being good for 4 days now. I am feeling positive about getting towards target now, scales showed another pound loss this morning but I think that was fluid loss from the 70 lengths I did last night to earn the Gu chocolate cheesecake I bought (Oh it does taste better when you've worked for it, I ate it over two sittings!).

No Valentine's day celebrating here, I don't do Valentine's day (I will refrain from ranting about it here ;)) but I wish those of you that are a very happy day - don't use it as an excuse to scoff loads of chocolate though :)

Breakfast - 2 eggs scrambled on 1 slice w/m toast with spread. 300cal
Snacks - Banana, hot chocolate, ricecake with raspberry conserve, tea, 200cal
    Lunch - Vegetable soup 100cal
Dinner - Turkey and veg stir fry 500cal

10 minutes hula hoop on Wii fit 57cal

Still got about 120 left to use between now and dinner time, I have to take the kids swimming so won't get dinner until late so this is a bit of a stretch. I may end up eating more and having to work it of fon the Wii later!

I am determined to stick to the 1200cal a day for the rest of the week, then plan on switching to 1400 next week. I am being really strict otherwise I cheat myself...

  • Just a thought.

I was wondering how you all calculate your calorie consumption. I have used various calculators online which all seem to suggest I should be eating about 1600-1700 a day to lose 1lb per week but that seems a lot higher than a lot of people on here. This may just be because i'm heavier (14 stone 7 atm) and therefore need more calories?

    Thanks.

    hi lauzt,
I calculated mine using myfitnesspal.com, which estimates your daily expenditure, based on details like weight, height, activity etc. You then deduct 500/day/lb from that to get your target calories.

I also use MFP to log my meals and exercise etc, to see how i'm doing on intake, although I'm not that strict on my target, as long as I'm not too far above it.

OMG just convinced myself it's pancake day, then realised I was wrong. I'm such a moron!

Yes I use MyFitnessPal app on my phone to calculate calories. I am doing 1200 a day this week to kick start then going up to 1400 next week I think. Your daily amount will change based on what you weigh as heavier people need more calories to function.

The heavier you are the more calories you burn just moving around. I worked out how many calories I needed a day (given that Im really obese and spend a couple of hours a day brisk walking up and down hills!!) and it worked out at 2800 cals!!
So Im going to see how far I can get by just eating what a normal, average person should eat in a day!!:o

    Today-
    breakfast-banana, ginger,honey and lemon tea.
lunch- porridge, grated apple and seeds.
    tea-chicken tikka masala, naan bread.
snacks-(poss unsalted nuts, fruit, pkt of french fries, if Im hungry)
Im abit back to front and upside down today coz I slept for 12 hours after my nightshifts and got up late! Its going to be the first time Ive made tikka masala or naan bread so hopefully its tasty!!:D
Also been out for 1.5 hrs with the dogs this morning and done a wee bit of housework (it all counts as exercise, doesnt it!):)
  • Thanks everyone. I used my fitness pal so think it's right, just wanted a second opinion.
  • Hi all, in haste as I'm about to go out!

I didn't weigh myself last week as I'd been so "bad" and didn't want to see it on the scales, but delighted to say I've lost 2 pounds this week!

BUT whoever is putting little stars against my name on the chart, I think I have misled you - I think I have in the past given you my total weight loss to date and you thought it was my weight loss for that week. Chance would be a fine thing :rotfl:

Also I had new scales a week or two in, and they weigh two pounds lighter than my old ones.

So my TOTAL weight loss since I started weighing myself on 3 January, including this week's, is actually "only" six pounds. But yay, that's nearly half a stone!! And it's an average of a pound a week, which considering my "bad" days is quite good, I think!

And I have lost five and a half inches from my waist, and am nearly down into a "safe" level for that, so I'm quite chuffed really.

But not sure I will be able to reach my target by the end of March (another eight pounds to go) unless I really cut down how much I am eating and get a lot more exercise ......

I was absolutely horrified to find out how many calories there were in ready-grated parmesan cheese in tubs - I had been ladling it onto veggie soups etc - no more!

A better day today, lots to make up for so a good start

    L - Slept through it :o
D - Grilled rainbow trout, sprout tops. SF orange jelly
Snacks - grapes, melon, apple, satsuma
    Exercise -1 hour exercise class

Still weary after yesterday, it was hard driving and the car is a disgrace! So an early night is on the cards, tomorrow I'll be as fresh as a daisy :D

    Have a good evening :)
