This is fine if you feel peckish a couple of hours before dinner, but if it's constant then i'm not surprised you see a gain after eating enough on a weekend (your body will want to hold on to it even more). If you feel a low level hunger, have a glass of water. If you're still hungry 30mins later, eat something healthy e.g. carrot sticks, grapes, a few nuts.
If you're constantly hungry, even immediately after eating, i'd say you're dehydrated.
hmm, interesting...
I was looking at it from the point of view of I just have to change my eating habits and my body needs to get used to not so much food...I've tried eating more for a few weeks, and I either don't lose or put on. I do drink a lot, that's what helps me to not snack.
Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between real hunger and just feeling like you want some more...I've yo-yo'ed for so many years that I have to try very hard to tell the difference, but I'm making a real effort (I still want double what I have though!)
daisiegg...I'd be confused too! dodgy scales?

They better blimmin not be dodgy as they cost about £50 and are less than a year old! I always step on them a few times on different areas of the floor as well, just to be sure. Maybe the chocolate is all still being digested and has yet to be turned to fat, and by Friday I will have magically gained 5lbs. We'll see...0 -
Hmph  I swear my scales have got an evil "Monday morning" button hidden on them somewhere..
I think we must have the same scales, lol, I always weigh more on a Monday, no matter what I eat over the weekend, that's why I changed my official weigh in day to Friday as I'm usually lighter then, although sometimes I'm even lighter on Saturday morning.
I went over my calorie goal yesterday, but was just under on Saturday, and overall for the week I was under. Doing ok so far today, having only had a bowl of cereal for breakfast, will probably have a sandwich before I go to work, and will take some fruit with me in case I get hungry later, but I'm working till 5.30 so I'm going to do cheese and onion crisp bakes, with oven chips and beans tonight.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Hi All, Just to say that I am back.... In-laws are back in their home... until the next crisis... They ran out of food last week as they had thrown the delivered food out in the bucket.. Never mind... I got a phone call on Friday night asking me to take a prescription to the chemist.. I said I couldn't as I was housebound... lived at least an hour away and that the chemist would be closed by the time I had got there... (I didn't mention that I couldn't drive on the round-a-bouts that had traffic lights on them (too confusing for me !!!)... neither can I drive in the dark...lol.. Anyway, I said that the doctor shouldn't have left the prescription with them and that the normal practice was for the prescription to be left at the chemist (or something like that)... Anyway, it was the doctors who decided they are compos mentis so I have decided to get on with my life... and try to stop worrying about them... It's a shame that I live so far away... Well, I don't really, but it is mostly country roads to drive along so it takes ages to get there...
Weight wise, I know I have put some weight on but I was able to wear the pair of jeans that I had been slimming down to fit into but I noticed that the waist band has got a little nippit so that's a sign !!!
Anyway, I'll post again tomorrow... take care everyone and sorry that I have been away so long...0 -

Hi Magical,
You know, I've been on every diet known to man and they just don't work !!!If you like carbs, you'll only stay on it a short time ... Just you carry on eating all the main food groups and just watch your portion sizes... You might find that with us coming into winter, you'll crave for carbohydrates... For example, a month or so ago, I was eating light meals and now I find I am craving for comfort food, such as chowders etc.. Heart warming foods... I found that I have lost a lot of weight only eating when I am hungry and cutting out 90% of the rubbish... That doesn't work for everyone though... I don't mean I graze... I tend to eat one main meal a day... but if I am hungry at say, lunch time, I will eat but only until I feel full.. Because of my illness, I eat very few green vegetables, salads, pulses and the like... so I have lost most of the weight eating protein and carbs....
But it is up to you how you lose weight... I remember being on a diet that consisted of meat, fish, chicken and eggs.. If it didn't fall into any of these categories, it wasn't allowed..:( So it was no to gravy, oils, potatoes, veggies, pulses, etc etc... Black tea, coffee and water was allowed.. In fact, if I remember, you had to drink 6 glasses of water a day.. The weight fell off at a tremendous rate, but you could only stay on it for a fortnight... After all, there was only so many pickled eggs and cold chicken one could eat !!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It's never the same without the mayo or bread or all the other staples in life..
Anyway, good luck in whatever you do0 -
Had a good moment yesterday...
I walked to the charity shop to look for curtains (I seem to have lost my kitchen curtains!)...and instead ended up buying a zip up jacket from the teenage boys rail, and the size label said it was a "small"
Now I know this is more to do with the vagaries of clothes sizing than me losing 2 stone overnight, but it's nice all the same :rotfl:

Hi all, not been very consistent with my posts lately, don'r seem to have much time for sitting down with the run-up to the C-word.
Yesterday -
B - F&F, 1/2 chopped banana, Greek yogurt
L - DD & I went shopping and had 'mini' mixed grill in a chain pub, though it came overflowing on a plate like a meat dish! Not impressed, couldn't tell the difference between the overcooked pork and lamb chops so it and the solid lump of liver went into a napkin to take home for the mutt. Won't be eating there again! Is it just me or is it getting more and more difficult to find a decent meal out? Thank goodness for toby, just unfortunate there wasn't one where we were.
T - slice of hm wm bread with yogurt, half peanut butter, half a scrape of apricot jam
S - melon, satsuma, handful mixed nuts
E - 5 hours Christmas shopping. Only got one present for youngest DGD, will just have to go again
Today -
B - F&F, 1/2 banana, greek yogurt
D - 4 oz frying steak, broccoli, spring greens, new potatoes, hm gravy
T - 3 crackerbread with yogurt, 1xvegemite, 1xrf cheese & pickle, 1xpeanut butter
S - 1/4 small pineapple, apple, satsuma, handful mixed nuts
E - bedroom, bathroom, ironing
enjoy the rest of the day0 -
Thanks officeguru. I guess there is no quick fix. You are right when it comes to winter and craving comfort food.
Ive fallen off the wagon for a few days but i will start again tomorrow. xComping for christmas xThankyou to all posters0 -

I know exactly what you mean! I find it hard to distinguish whether I'm hungry or just bored. I do have the same thoughts myself, because I'm sure I eat right, and just need to get my stomach to shrink a little bit (and if I don't eat it will shrink). But I keep hearing that it's a bad idea, so I feel I should pass the message along.
I decided to try kickboxing yesterday, it was good, and I'd really like to keep it on, but didn't realise the classes are £28/month direct debit. I am not here for 3 Mondays in December, so it would cost me £28 for the one class next month. I think I will try out Fitsteps next Monday, and re-visit kickboxing in the New Year.0
