It's not necessarily even a setback. I have cake most days, it is just part of the food I have. That's because I know I can eat just one small piece of cake. Chocolate however is a different matter altogether. I can't eat a little bit so I'm better off not having the taste at all. You just have to know what you can give yourself as a small treat that won't wreck the whole diet :)

  • BT internet is hopeless, I get chucked off every 5 mins, and unfortunately just lost a whole post!

Missed weigh in this week, I forgot to take my glasses into the bathroom with me, and couldn't tell whether I had lost 0.5lbs or 1lbs. Will catch it next week.

I've been pretty good, except I had the house to myself yesterday so treated myself to a Chinese takeaway. I made up for it by eating less during the day yesterday, and having a carb free day today (which means I ate a lot less than normal)

Looking forward to a good week ahead. I have a day off tomorrow, and will be going to Kick-boxing in the evening.

No no no! No-one has ever been a failure for having a bit of cake!

It's all about small steps...every good choice you make will be a step closer to your weight goals...and every "bad" choice you make is just one step back. (and I say "bad" like that because actually nothing is bad if you account for it in your eating plan).

I feel myself that this is a very long term thing (like the rest of my life!) so treats have got to be part of my life.

So you had a bit of cake...just carry on eating well tomorrow :)

I fell at the last hurdle this weekend...after "being good" all weekend, I unexpectedly had family for tea, and they wanted a takeaway, so went to chinese...the only thing I can say in my favour is that I had a half portion. I will get back on it tomorrow :)

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?
  • Please may I join in. My scales gave up the ghost a long time ago.
If I don't loose weight now I will have to have my wedding ring cut off.

Hmph  I swear my scales have got an evil "Monday morning" button hidden on them somewhere...
honestly, the only thing I did wrong all weekend was the chinese last night, and that was half portion of chips, third of rice, 4 bits of chicken and a little sauce, I shared it with DS1...

oh well, onwards to a new week of being sensible. I eat reasonable portions, but apart from weekend evenings I spend most of the week feeling a sort of low level grumbling hunger, I just have to ignore it :(

And thank you Knit Witch for doing the list, especially when you're ill :T

Never just ignore a low level grumbling hunger. This is fine if you feel peckish a couple of hours before dinner, but if it's constant then i'm not surprised you see a gain after eating enough on a weekend (your body will want to hold on to it even more). If you feel a low level hunger, have a glass of water. If you're still hungry 30mins later, eat something healthy e.g. carrot sticks, grapes, a few nuts.

If you're constantly hungry, even immediately after eating, i'd say you're dehydrated.

    I am so confused.

I have been really poorly with an absolutely yukky cold all weekend. As a result I have consumed WAY too much chocolate. I can't even begin to tell you how much. It is odd because I rarely crave chocolate but this weekend I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Anyway just now I stepped on the scales, wearing clothes, after having had breakfast and two cups of tea, almost to see the damage to try and motivate myself to get back on track today. Well....I weighed slightly LESS than I did on friday morning when I was naked and pre eating or drinking anything! So confusing. And no there was no starvation mode or anything causing me to hold on to weight last week as I was eating plenty all week.

Anyway, not that I am complaining, it is just bizarre. Seriously, I have what can only be described as a 48 hour binge and somehow lose weight?! When weeks that I try really hard and eat nothing naughty I STS or gain?!

    I don't get it.

Never mind, it has prompted me to be good this week - to make sure it keeps going down!

    Have a good week, everyone.
