I've been losing weight since the new year (although there were months when I stayed the same) and I've lost a stone and a half...but I'm STILL wearing the same 3 pairs of jeans...admittedly back in January they were very tight and I could hardly do the button up, and now they're quite loose...but I really want to go down a size!
The "test" jeans now zip up but are too tight, another half stone might do it. I think those jeans are the reason I'm keeping at this
I've had the same problem, I was wearing size 16 when I started (which were extremely tight, lol), and I've only been able to fit in a 14 for a few weeks, although I've been losing weight since May and have lost 2 stone. My original 'test' jeans are now a little loose (yay!), so I've got the next size down in the test drawer now.Anyone going to watch Got Thin, Got fat again on TV tonight at 9 pm?
Heard them saying on morning tv that only 1 - 5% of people who lose weight manage to keep it off
I know I've yo-yoed in the past, not because of any medical issue, but because I wasn't willing to acknowledge just how careful I have to be with the calories to keep the weight off.
I'm really hoping this time it will be different...I'm already thinking about how I'll maintain it
I saw a bit of that while flicking through the channels. I've also yo yo'd for years, but I really feel that this time will be different as it's coming off more slowly, and I'm educating myself in how to maintain the weight. I'm determined to not let it go back on this time, and intend to cut back if I put on even a pound rather than waiting until I've put on a few stones.Knit_Witch wrote: »Laid up with a chest infection, throat infection, ear infection
and I have put 5 s*dding pounds on in three days
I hope you feel better soon, and that the gain is only temporary.
Not a bad week so far, although the weekend wasn't brilliant, lol, went right over my allowance on Saturday! However OH and I went out for a walk on Sunday, went to visit my mum's grave as it was the anniversary of when she died last week and I couldn't go up on the day as I was working, then we walked to my dad's flat to check on him and then walked back, all of which took about an hour and 3 quarters.
Was very pleased with myself today as I went shopping after work, without having lunch, and although I walked down the 'naughty aisle' and was very tempted to have some chocolate (thinking '1 bar of chocolate won't hurt', lol), I resisted!I must admit I did buy 3 tubs of pringles as they were on offer in Mr A's, but they have been put away for Christmas and WILL NOT be opened until then! In the past I would have bought at least 6 tubs, so it's an improvement, lol!

Ooh Sue, I'm so jealous re the jeans :rotfl:
Like you, I'm going to have to lose 2 stone to fit into mine...maybe by new year?
I looked at the pringles offer yesterday, but they stayed on the shelf...they're one of those "don't buy because I can't control myself " foods. I'm impressed with you putting them by for xmas.
I haven't bought any xmas food yet, and I'm going to try and keep the xmas foods for that one week...no more eating mince pies for a month!
sparrer...hope you're feeling better
and Knit Witch, how are you today?

I can only control myself until they're opened, as an open tub is an empty tub, lol, but I only buy them for Christmas so I know I won't open them until then. I've also told OH that I'm not buying any biscuits this year, apart from shortbread, as we usually sit with the biscuit barrel between us and munch till we feel sick, lol, so that's not happening this year! I was very tempted by the mince pies yesterday, but again I resisted, although I'm sure I will have at least one at work if anyone brings some in.
So far today I've only had a bowl of bran flakes with sultanas and semi skimmed milk, will probably have a sandwich or toast for lunch and tonight I'm doing jacket potatoes with beans, so hopefully I'll have a loss tomorrow.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Lost 1 lb this week.
I've got into a bit of a routine...a pound comes off Thursday or Friday, a couple go on over the weekend, then I try hard Monday to Friday to lose them all again...it may be slow but at least it's going in the right direction
