Good Morning chums, still dark and gloomy outside, winter is galloping upon us i think.Today I have my U3A coffee morning which is good, although I often don't bother with the coffee as we hold it in Dobbies locally and they have a counter where you can have iced water, as much as you can drink for nowt :):)I love water when its really cold so I will have a large glass half filled with ice and topped up with chilled water.
    But today will be
B: cereal and stewed apples with skimmed milk

L:crispbread topped with redced fat spread and sliced tomato.I also have some rocket left from my DD which will be piled on top and to drink I have some carrot and coriander HM soup.

D:Ham salad with probably the last of the rocket.

snacks will be fruit I think as I have quite a bit in the conservatory.
I have a bag of slightly wrinkly peppers that my eldest DD gave me (she is going away on Friday to the US for a week) so I have to think of a way of using them up ,any ideas there are about 5 of them and I don't want to throw them away.
    Onwards and upwards chums

Yesterday didn't quite go to plan, but in a good way (from a weight loss POV, anyway) - I was having another of my "where's my appetite gone?" days, and even the small amounts I ate left me feeling uncomfortably stuffed. :( I'm feeling a little hungrier today, but hopefully not so much so I go off the rails!

B - banana and peanut butter sandwich
L - probably soup, sandwich and apple
D - TBC - probably a ready meal, to my shame - I'm just not in a cooking / eating mood at the moment, which isn't like me
Back after a very long break!
  • I'm very late with my weigh in..I'd like to blame the 24 hr power cut we had here...but its really just guilt
    I'm plus 1.5 lbs this week :o
hate this cold weather...I seem to be hungry all the time

  • Hi all

Sorry I'm late with my weigh in I completely missed it altogether and now my scales have broken! I am off to get some tonight so will weigh in on Friday as normal but will have missed a week.

Saying that not expecting even a STS this week as it's my birthday tomorrow so out for dinner with OH, then dinner with Mum on Friday and with bro and sis Saturday.... uh oh. However, rather than a few months ago my mentality would have been to just write off the whole week, I am being really good today, yesterday and then Thursday. I will still gain but it won't be as bad as when I just gorged for the whole week!

    Good luck all x

    Afternoon all,
Spent yesterday evening painting and cleaning so the BF was again in charge of tea. Luckily though I talked him through it so we had bangers and mash.
MFP have given me a calorie goal of 1270 per day but in order not to 'punish' myself for eating (trying to keep a healthy frame of mind) as long as I stay below the 2000 that's universally recommended I see it as an ok day.
Yesterday was 1700, but that's also not taking into account the decorating/cleaning so overall am happy with that.

    Today;
B - bagel with spread and tea
L - pumpkin soup and salad
T - chicken in hoi sin sauce with rice
    S - special k bar, crisps
    E - more cleaning!

I really need to make an effort to start taking the stairs at work, I always do it the one flight to the restuarant but my office is on the third floor which always feels like a struggle before 8am. Am going to make this my first goal, to do this daily.

  • Having a bad-ish few days. My meals have been ok but between the 20 tastings of the Christmas cake I made on Saturday, the batch of coconut cupcakes I made to bribe bf not to attack the Christmas cake, the peice of cake and 2 biscuits I had with coffee on Sunday, the whoopsied danish pastries I bought with the supermarket shop on Sunday, the massive slice of cheesecake on of my colleagues brought me from their team meal on Monday, the bag of kettle chips I shared with bf last night and the iced mince pie I had before bed I'll be lucky to get a sts this week never mind a loss. Then to top it off, the soup that I had in the fridge for lunch tasted and looked decidedly ropey so it went down the sink and I've had a peanut butter sandwich for lunch instead.

Need to get back on track and start saying no to the things I'm offered. I am not a dustbin, I am not a dustbin, I am not a dustbin.....

Hope the poorlies get well soon :)

Had ECG this morning, back next Tues for blood test (same nurse, I wonder why she couldn't do it today?) Then have to wait a fortnight before going back to GP as I'm away for a week, then she is. Still feeling giddy! DD has diagnosed low bp which she, my DM and I have, be interesting to see what the professional diagnosis is. On the other hand I'm grateful for the NHS and the GP who is being very thorough.

B - F&F, stewed apple, ff Greek yogurt
L - rf cheese toastie in WW wm
DGD1 coming for tea and cakes shortly, wonder if I can resist?
    D - veggie omelette
S - melon, nana, carrot batons
E - big bins cleaned out, sitting room dusted/vac'ed, window sills & light plates wiped over

Have a sunny rest of the day :)

Hello, just a quick update from me. Another terrible weekend food wise, but back on it this week again. Stood on the scales this morning and it showed another pound off, but I'm not going to take that as true until Friday weigh in. I am hoping the combo of being relatively good during the week and lots of exercise will still mean small losses. OH and I have promised to start helping each other at weekends not to be as naughty!! We were talking last night about sharing a bottle of wine on a Friday, rather than having one each!! Keep going everyone!

  • Feeling so much more 'in control' and have not been tempted by the dreaded peanuts. I'm going to have to think about my next habit to change although I think maybe it should be gaining a good habit next week after getting rid of one this week. Thinking cap on.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.

    Hello,

A decent low carb day today and in less than 24 hours I already feel less bloated. Interestingly, although I felt hungry when mealtimes approached, I did not feel any lightheadedness or blood sugar drop, just a normal level of hunger!

    Here's what I had:

    B. mushroom omelette
    L. Feta with mixed salad in olive oil, nuts
    S. small piece of cheddar, 2 tsps peanut butter
    D. Vegetable soup, 2 vege sausages, green beans in butter, hm yogurt with tbsp hemp seeds.
    S. 4 Brazil nuts - while watching TV (this is good for me because normally I would be guzzling chocolate digestives!)
Hoping to stick to low carbing for the foreseeable future.

    Good night x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
