Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Weight-in total for this week for me - 2.5 lbs loss. :j I had a brief mildly excited moment when the scales fluttered around another half pound off, which would take me back to my pre-holiday weight, before fluttering back up slightly - oh well, next week!

Today is unlikely to be a good day for weight loss as I will be working on an OU assignment and I usually end up nibbling on things out of sheer boredom - on the plus side, it's a ridiculously short piece of writing so I shouldn't have much time to nibble! ;)

Brunch - half a wholemeal demi-baguette with peanut butter and banana (and the end piece with a smear of butter :o)
Snacks - dried fruit and nut mix; fresh figs
Dinner - pea and ham soup with a couple of cheese twists, followed by a mini apple pie with a dollop of cream - the fruits of yesterday's YS collection. :money: And a couple of glasses of wine, as I'll need them after writing all day!
Back after a very long break!

    Welcome lynsayjane

Ooh I think I was a lil bit drunk last night :o
I don't drink often so it doesn't take much to get me tipsy...I had a lovvvellly time :)...wine, and about 3 million calories of crisps and crackers...I think it will take the rest of the week to work them off!

On the positive side, my friend came round to pick up her car this morning, and we've been for a walk already. The first walk since my latest back injury, so feeling sore but glad I went.

Have a good weekend everyone :)

ETA Well done CCP, your efforts paid off :T

Well done on the losses and STS everyone :)

I just did 30 mins on the treadmill. Pretty pleased with myself.

STS for me again this week. I was a little disappointed because the day after last week's sts I lost 1lb and that stayed off all week until Friday morning when I went back up 1lb. I waited until today but it's still there so STS it is.

What's the betting it goes down again tomorrow! Oh well, if it does it had better stay off for next week......

It's almost as if the scales know it's weekend weigh in time, isn't it Pollybear? Try and confuse them next week when we move the clocks :)

I've been a lazy so-and-so today, after my good start...wish my back was well enough for a second walk today, because it's been warmer outside than in!
Also been very peckish, and really fancied a pizza for tea, but I restrained myself, had a mushroom omelette, microwave chips and green beans...not quite the same lol.

Now I'm torn - I want to have a good day, but there's wine left in the bottle, it would be a shame to waste it!

I'm obviously glad it was a sts rather than a gain! I managed two walks today, the rain didn't come until this afternoon, but then I walked twice every day last week and that didn't seem to make any difference.
  • Hi Knit Witch,

I am sorry to say that I will have to bow out of this challenge. My in laws are going from one crisis to the next and this morning, my mother-in-law was rushed into hospital with yet another fall.. I had to go and see them and while I was there, I cleaned their little house.. My father-in-law is seriously anti social and refuses to have a cleaner in.. so, in my humble opinion, in another couple of days, the house would have been a health hazard.. Not as bad as 'train spotting' though... She's been doing her best but she is too frail to clean floors etc.. So I am having to go back and forth halfway across the country to see to them so my eating has gone out of the window as we are having to grab food here and there...

I thank you all so much for the support I have been given up to now... I have fairly shifted the stones and hopefully, before long, I'll be back on the challenge... but at the moment, we can just hope that she pulls through.. Mind you, 6 months ago, it was his dad that was going in and out of hospital like a yoyo and today, he's like his old self.. but they will both be 90 next year and she is now looking extremely frail... When they wheeled her out of the house today, they covered her with a blanket and I felt I wouldn't see her again...

Good luck everyone, and, hopefully, I'll be back before long..

    Hello all

checking in - missed last week , sorry! That's because I've been on holiday with friends and their teens.

Well, the combination of 3 meals a day (with pudding), eating out, stopping for coffee and cake, and wine.... I have put on what I had lost and more despite long walks :(

weighed in tonight at 10st 10lbs on my return home, so starting again. Ho hum. have got back onto MFP and logged today's weight and food - onwards and upwards as they say... It was working, and will work again. Just had salmon and veggies for dinner

If I might pass in some info I was given by a gym instructor, its because your body goes into 'starvation' mode. It needs a certain number of calories just to function and if its not getting these it clings onto everything it does get to survive the lean times.
The other danger is that if your body doesn't get what it needs from food it starts to break down the glycogen (sure that's what its called, its a bit early haha) inthe body's muscle and organs rather than fat stores.
Hope that makes sense and is of some help,

I know about the starvation mode, but it still seems strange that you need to eat more to lose more, when eating more is what has made you fat in the first place, lol!

Sorry to hear the problems you're having, I've had the same problems with my dad having falls and having to clean his flat for him, so I know what you're going through, I hope your MIL gets better soon. Take care.

Well I can't believe it, but after declaring a STS for this week yesterday, I got on the scales this morning and it showed a 2lb loss! Hopefully it will stay off until the next weigh in day, but I wouldn't like to bet on it after the day I've had today, lol!
