Is that the original one or the new one? If it's the first one then I've got it and it's very good - the recipes I've tried have been delicious (particularly the lamb and spinach curry, which is the best I've ever made, diet or not). I haven't seen the new one yet but I intend to get a copy when it turns up in my office book club.

My lunch today was a wholemeal baguette with roast turkey and the sandwich shop's HM coleslaw, which is made with lots of chunky veg and a relatively small amount of dressing. It was probably a bit generously-sized given that I didn't have the healthiest breakfast, but it was utterly delicious so I don't feel as guilty as I possibly should! ;)

It is the new one I think, Eat for Life? It has a yellow cover. There are definately a few curries in there I would like to try.

    Hi all,
Is there room for a (not so) little one to join in? Was going to read through the thread to see if there is a 'plan' to the OS weight loss club but at 500+ pages I might struggle!

Started browsing the OS forum about 6 weeks ago mostly for the flylady thread as I was moving from a one bed flat which I felt I struggled to keep in the condition I wanted to a three bed house. I also now have my bf living with me which basically counts as having a child to raise/clean up after :rotfl:

I've always been big, hit 13st in high school and being only 5'2" made me the fat kid and I hated school for that. A couple of years ago I lost three stone and felt :jmanaged to keep most of it off for over a year but the past 14 months or so have seen some really tough times and I've basically stopped looking after myself, no exercise and comfort eating mean I'm probably back up at my heaviest. Am too scared to weigh myself knowing what it'll do to my confidence, but having to buy a bigger size jeans says all I need it to.

But it's a new house, new relationship and new start. I've finally got a proper grown up kitchen and want to get back into all the boxes of clothes I bought when I lost weight. I made a futile attempt a couple of months ago and signed up to a local gym, it's frozen this month due to the move but starts again 1st November so I intend to get going there. One problem I'll have with following any 'diet' is that I have to cook for the other half who stuffs himself and usually with unhealthy things (he has an active job so doesn't have to worry as much  not fair) so doing it the OS way might be just the key to looking after us both.

Please can I join you? Where do I start?

That sounds like the new one. I'll be interested to see what you think of it as, as I said, I am intending to get my own copy soon.

lynsayjane - welcome to the thread! There's a very flexible approach, so you can do whatever works best for you (no fad or crash diets, though, of course!), with plenty of support and advice when needed. We are currently about three or four weeks into a challenge, where we all pick a certain amount we want to lose by a certain date (for this one it's just before Christmas). My own record on the current challenge isn't good so far, but generally it works well! ;)

Hi Lynsayjane welcome :D my OH is exactly the same. I pretty much come home and make two separate meals and look longingly at some of his... which is why I now batch cook at a weekend so that it doesn't tempt me. So unfair I don't know how they do it - chips, crisps, sausage rolls you name it! Good luck anywho :D

CCP this scared me - 3/4 weeks already? AAHHHH!!!! (and that's not even thinking about the lessening weeks before the erm 'festive day')

Weighing in tomorrow as completely forgot this morning however I feel that the two beer festivals last week may have meant I am on a gain albeit a lot of exercise this week. Next week won't be any better as it's my birthday and I already have three meals planned.... uh oh :p

Well you have sort of joined in already by posting :rotfl: so welcome to the thread! If you want to join in the weight loss challenge, this one runs until the weekend of the 22nd December and this weekend is the third weigh in - so plenty of time left :D all you need to do is let me know how much you hope to lose in the time remaining of the challenge and then weekly let me know how much you have lost or gained and I update the spreadsheet, you don't need to say how much you weigh so no problems there ;)
    Must use my stash up!
