Hi all
Just reading back through the posts - I was only saying what works for me as I know that is what happened to myself not necessarily for everyone else.
I was just being concerned because I was worried you weren't eating enough
I don't know if it's a myth or not, science has never been my thing. Didn't mean to offend anyone if I have, I didn't realise Molly was ill (really sorry) and if that is what works for people then that's what works.

I'm another one who can gain weight incredibly quickly - when I went on holiday last month I ate normally (with, I admit a few extra pints of beer
) for four days and gained four or five pounds in that time, the last of which I am still struggling to lose now.
I had a change of plan for dinner last night - I cooked up the last few spoonfuls of savoury mince with some extra veggies and spices, and made enchiladas with a couple of wholemeal wraps, topped with chopped tomatoes (HG ones :j) and some RF feta cheese. It was tasty, not too high in calories, and incredibly filling - definitely one to do again.
Today goes:
B - wholemeal wrap (the last one, thank goodness!) with one microwave-scrambled egg and a squeeze of ketchup
L - mug of veg soup and a LC sandwich; apple
D - TBC - either a beanburger inna bun with lots of salad, or a ready meal with extra salad
I will probably go out again tonight, so a cider or three can be added to that.
sachatith - definitely not offended here - the discussions about what works for different people are one of the joys of this thread. When I work out what works for me I will definitely share!Back after a very long break!0 -

Oh dear, sounds like a few of you are struggling and sounding a bit gloomy :grouphug: – blame it on the weather and the imminent full moon, you’ll be feeling better next week.
Oh this is a good excuse! There's a fair bit on t'internet claiming that the moon affects weight loss...the theory being that the moon affects the tides and our bodies contain a lot of water. If I remember right I think a full moon means we may weigh heavier?
It's full moon tomorrow
Sachatith...don't apologize, we all look out for each other on this thread, and that's exactly what you were doing, you were concerned.
It's interesting and sometimes confusing to read all the different things which work and don't work for people, and sometimes we might pick up a good idea.
Personally I'm not sure if I believe in starvation mode, but I also believe we shouldn't eat too little for a prolonged time...apart from any scientific evidence, it's no fun!

Morning all. Yesterday was a non starter for me food-wise
B - porridge, apple, ff yogurt
D - hm veg soup, jacket potato with rf spread
T - WW wm rf cheese & pickle sandwich. 1/3 cantaloupe melon
S - 2 slices buttered ginger cake bar. Grapes.
E - scrubbed the sitting room carpet
Today so far
B porridge with apple & ff yogurt
L, D & S tba
E - 1 1/2 hours class this morning. Going to look at a rowing machine this pm, been told I have to get my heart rate up with more daily exercise
Re diet/starve/cals/carbs/fats etc etc. The expression 'breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dine like a pauper' works for me when I feel like a big breakfast and smaller lunch/dinner (which isn't often). I appreciate though that it's not possible for people who work.
eta - I have a photo of me before I lost weight blutacked to my fridge. It's :eek::eek:! But it works, most of the time
Have a sunny day0 -

Sorry
Nooooo you haven't offended anyone! Sorry if it sounded like you were being attacked that is not the case at all! Don't worry a t all0 -
Well I had a very nice evening last night, and had a starter, a main and two glasses of wine!
However I have woken up to some very sad news this morning. One of my students has died in a terrible accident. I have taught her for three years and feel very shaken and upset, have been crying on and off this morning. Makes worries about losing weight or not losing weight feel very silly and petty (not saying that about anyone else, just me). It is my day off today and in a way it is worse being at home, I would rather be at work with everyone else.
Haven't eaten anything yet today and don't feel remotely hungry. I will make sure I eat healthily though as I know not eating is no good. May not weigh in tomorrow. It is the last thing on my mind.
Trying to focus on marking essays - I can't make my brain stick with it but I suppose things must go on.0 -
Grrr, it IS my time of the month
Which means that my weigh in tomorrow will not be my 'true' weight. I will weigh in regardless though.
Daisie- so sorry to hear the news of your student. Maybe allow yourself some time to do what comes naturally (cry, feel the sadness etc) instead of trying to make yourself not think about it. I will be thinking of you.x.0 -
That's so sad daisiegg, so sad.
Be kind to yourself today ((((hugs))))

Oh daisiegg, that's terrible.
Huge hugs to you.

Thanks everyone
she was only 13. This comes after we lost another student who was hit by a train just over a year ago. Our students should not have to see so much tragic loss at their age, it breaks my heart
It is not my loss or my tragedy but it is hard not to feel shaken and devastated. I am holding it together as we have some men here doing work on the house. I might pop out in the car in a bit and have a cry - while parked up safely of course not driving!
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. If any of you are praying types (I am undecided but tend to turn to it in times like this) please pray for her family and all her friends and peers.
On a more positive note good luck everyone for the weigh in tomorrow!0
