Hello x
Another day of hardly any food and have I lost weight? Have I heck:mad:
Dittoyesterday all I ate all day was porridge, two rice cakes and vegetable soup. Weighed myself this morning as a mid week progress check and it looks like I have gained
It may be because I haven't been to the toilet since Sunday:o not sure what that is all about but I suppose it means pretty much everything I have eaten in the last three days is still sitting in my body, hence the number on the scales! I hope...

Hello x

Ditto, although in my case I suspect I can blame the cider I drank while watching the football at the pub last night.
Anyway, day three of making myself thoroughly hungry and miserable goes:
B - RC cereal with FF yoghurt
L - mug of veg soup with either a bread roll or a very LC sandwich; apple
D - small bowl of spiced veg stew with a wholemeal wrap to dip in it
Please, please let me have some weight loss by the weekend...Back after a very long break!0 -
CCP, daisiegg, Molly41 make sure you are eating enough otherwise your body will go into starvation mode because it doesn't think it will get any food. As a result it stores all the food as fat because it doesn't know when it's next meal will be.
I'm only mentioning it because it took me AGES of doing exactly that to realise (and to believe) and I tested it this month - one week I ate 1000 calories out of my 1400 a day and STS, last week I ate as close as possible to 1400 (and went slightly over on two, oops!) and lost 3lbs.
I know it sounds weird (I have no science capabilities whatsover) but for some people it makes all the difference. Obviously everyone is different and I'm not saying that it will be the same for you but my body definitely does it - fingers crossed for you all for a loss this week

Hi everyone
Still on the wagon, had a small glass of wine and 1 single coconut mushroom from the pick and mix at the event I was at on Monday but other than that I have been good. Made a massive pot of vegetable broth which looks highly unappetising but was cheap (broth mix has been in the cupboard for 3 years, veg was in the freezer) and will last for lunches all week and probably most of next week too :D. Got paid yesterday and all of my wages has gone on paying back overspend on the cc from last month, so I am officially skint and will be forced to have NSDs until BF gets paid at the end of the month. So no chance of chocolate even if I wanted it!
CCP, Molly and daisiegg are you sure you're eating enough? I think I'd be passing out if I ate that small an amount every day!0 -
Re the "not eating enough" debate...
(and this is just my opinion, I'm no scientist either)
I think it would take more than a few days of not eating enough for your body to go into starvation mode...though mfp gives you a daily calorie goal, there's no requirement to stick rigidly to it, there seems to be nothing against averaging your calories over a week for example, which many of us do unwittingly when we relax at the weekend then make up for it during the week.
Molly41 has health problems, I expect she'd be eating a bit more if she could, and it sounds to me that CCP and daisiegg are just trying to have a few extra strict days to kick start weight loss after eating a bit too much.
I know we all have slightly different ways of losing the weight...personally I don't think I'd lose anything if I didn't have some strict days mid-week.
I also think that our bodies hold onto that fat for dear life, and it can take 2 or 3 days after being strict for it to finally disappear (and I can't imagine what the science behind that would be, I only know I've found that happening)
I guess it's trial and error until we find the best way that works, I found if I ate a bit more, I just put weight back on!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Some interesting points coming up here! I can confirm that my current intake is for a strictly limited time only, as eating sensibly (or what I thought was sensibly
) hasn't worked. If this doesn't work either I'll have to think again, or possibly just give up for a while!
I definitely could have done with a bigger breakfast this morning - by mid-morning my stomach was grumbling so loudly I gave in and had a couple of biscuits, as much for my colleagues' benefit as for mine!Back after a very long break!0 -

Totally agree - everyone is completely different, my body holds on to fat for a while. The only way I can shift it is exercising like a crazy exercise thing (oh for a lazy life)... so if I eat something fatty I absolutely have to exercise to get it off. It was only I noticed my pattern, so thought I'd mention it in case it helps, I know how blooming frustrating it is!:mad:Debt Free by 2015: £5839.01/£13000 1% challenge = 44.91%CAMRA Member: Drinking Ale doesn't make me any less of a woman :beer:0 -
Hi Folks
Brrrrr……it’s d@mn cold here, went out to meet a friend at 9.00am and the temp showing in the car wavered between 2 & 3 degrees
Went to the diy store and managed to get a bargain on the wallpaper of my choice, wasn’t till I got to the checkout that I realised there was a bogohp on it plus used my friends discount card so saved £19odd – not much but better off in my pocket then theirs, so I’m a happy bunny today :j.
Meals today =
B – Yoghurt & mixed berries
L – Lentil Soup & toast (need something to warm me up)
D – Chilli, couple of new potatoes, green beans & cabbage
Time now for a change of clothes, get the roller out and crack on with the painting.Re the "not eating enough" debate...

Ditto here - In my case I found that I wasn't eating enough protein, the challenge of trying to keep food costs down/eating non-meat meals 2-3 days a week - so instead included much more beans & lentils in my diet, but as its been said each of us has to try and find what suits our own bodies.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
