    today I've had:

cup of tea, millk no sugar
1 slice of toast with butter

A pub lunch of roast dinner - obviously no tea plate.

teaplate - gammon, pineapple and fried egg for dinner.

Going to have strawbs, blueberries with low fat yoghurt and a drizzle of honey shortly.

I have eaten far too much today, I am aware of that but at least I am aware. At least I am not eating crisps, biscuits and chocolate.
  • I swear by FitnessPal. it's brilliant, i started using it Late September and have lost nearly 2stone at a steady rate of a 2ilb loss a week. Eat what you want in moderation, no fad diets.

It's my first day back on track and I already feel better for it. I am still using up Christmas leftovers so just bought a bag of salad leaves (reduced from £1.50 to 40p :) ), low fat yogurt and wholemeal bread from the supermarket. I weighed in this morning so I am going to weigh in again on friday and hopefully that will be my first loss.

    B: porridge with mashed banana
L: roll with reduced fat pate and HM beetroot
D: 2 slices of wholemeal toast with very finely sliced Wensleydale and cranberry cheese & low fat rhubarb yogurt
Milk : 1/2 pint of semi skimmed (used in lots of cups of tetley decaf tea)
snack : mug of ovaltine light.

I am tracking my calorie intake with Sparkpeople.com (it's free) Today 1282 calories (a little on the low side for me but I need a few lower days to kick start my weight loss and give me some energy)

Sparrer I like your idea of using yogurt on toast. Is it just natural yogurt?

    Hi all

Well had an OK day. The main weakness being Choccies. The Quality Street are nearly gone and I have no more other chocolate gifts (my DH has though and I must ask him to hide it out of sight!). I know the cravings are going to be bad this week - and not sure what to do about it. :(:undecided
I have sorted out my exercise videos though for when the kids go back to school on Wednesday. I have picked "Essential Yogalates" which I used to find excellent a few years back, "Cardiocallentics" and Callentics Evolution" these really steamline and tone - which I definitely need as I have already gone up a dress size and am now finding that size a bit tight. The Plan is do exercise 3 times a week rotating these videos. I will also walk the long way to school instead of taking the shortcut everyday. I am feeling motivated but not sure how often to weigh myself. Is it best weekly or fortnightly? What do other people tend to find best?

    Good Luck to everyone.:):)

t - spaghetti with HM tomato sauce, garlic bread :o small slice of christmas cake with a bit of cheese

    Tomorrow will be much better...!

I have been on myfitnesspal and worked out today's calorie intake.

I have consumed 1605 calories today. I just know that is far too much. It's saying that I should consume 1400. That still seems like a high amount to me. Those of you who do calorie count, how much would you suggest would be a healthy amount of calories to consume in a day in order to loose weight.

I'm not going to obsess over calories but I think I need a helping hand to work out how much is too much.

fuddle - when I am concentrating and count calories properly, I aim for between 1,200 and 1,400 calories a day, which seems to work well for me :)

Hiya, I use MFP to do my food diary. The calorie allowance it gives you is the result of 2 things - what it calculates your daily energy expenditure is, and how much you've set as your target per week. It calculates your calories to maintain weight based on height/weight/activity etc, and then subtracts 500cal/lb/day to get your target calories. If you log any exercise, it increases your target to reflect this, keeping you at the same deficit for weightloss to avoid your net calories dropping too low
My target is set for 2lb a week, and it's 1380, so depending on your weight 1400ish is probably ok.

seasideshack yes plain yougurt, Greek lf or ff if I can get it. I use it on bread, toast, crispbread, jacket potatoes, almost anywhere I would normally use butter, spread or cream. Not being fond of flavoured yogurts I also mix fresh fruit in sometimes :D.

bev most of us weigh weekly on a Friday and post on here as that's the day ragz updates the list. hth
