how do you know the PWC chose this  , we only have the OP's side of the story and for all we know he is bending the truth (sorry OP :D) and knows full well about this child and hasnt wanted anything to do with him/her, maybe the only reason this has come to the surface is because the CSA has only just finally caught up with him after all this time.

So we just assume that all OP's lie then  The OP is getting a hard time just because he is a bloke, isn't that the case!

seeing as the OP hasnt been back we can assume that he has either got the answer he needs from elsewhere or someone is on a wind up with him and is giving his name to the csa seeing as its the 2nd time the csa have been after him, or maybe this woman is on another forum moaning that it has taken 12 years for the csa to track down the father of her child

Maybe i am incorrect, but doesn't the PWC when making a claim, first have to give details of the NRP, including their address, or a possible address, otherwise how would the CSA know where to send the letter? If she knew his address enabling to inform the CSA, why did she at least not write to him at the same address to inform him of him being a father?

No they don't have to provide the address. They need to provide all the information they know about the NRP - his last KNOWN address can be traced forwards to a current address on DCI (Departmental Central Index) if he is working for example. His date of birth etc, matched with his last known address is virtually a dead cert that they have got the person to whom the PWC is referring and it is taken from there. Sometimes, with people with very similar details, such as name and dates of birth have led to incorrect MEFs being sent out, but clearly not in this case.

No we don't assume that all OPs lie, just as we can't accept their side of things 100% as we just don't know. Just as we don't know anything about the PWC and her motives. All is speculation and it is unfair to judge either side really, although we are all guilty of that sometimes. That was why I pointed out that most people were making unfounded accusations about the PWC when they suggested that she had some sinister motive for claiming after 11 years.

It could be that the NRP just wants to deny everything and has twisted it all, just as it could be that the PWC has. No evidence either way.

Just to be clear - the address that the PWC may have given to the CSA will be the address that she last knew him at. He may have disappeared the next week, but that is where she knew he lived at. If he has a tax history, or a benefits history, or national insurance history, all his addresses will be on the DCI and are trackable backwards and forwards to his current address. So a PWC can provide an address which is years old, but the NRP can be traced to his current address in less than 10 minutes in some cases. Only certain members of DWP staff and Inland Revenue etc have access to this information as it is highly sensitive - DCI holds all the addresses and national insurance numbers of everybody in the UK. It isn't foolproof - it isn't always up to date especially for those who have never worked or claimed benefits, but by and large, it is pretty reliable. Even the police ask DWP for information of this nature to trace criminals who have been accused of a very serious crime.
  • It would be interesting to know the outcome of this, as like Kelloggs says, everything here is based on assumption. However, at the end of the day we are all entitled to our own opinions.

OP - has anything else happened since you last posted??

Thanks for clarifying.....just wondering with all this information within easy access, why it is SO hard for the CSA to chase all those non paying parents out there?....
