Nothing ditched today, as I had to accompany my daughters to a local shopping centre to find ball gowns for a Valentine Ball we're going to. Didn't get home till 4.30 and was worn out, so will try tomorrow. Have got 12 1/2 month old demanding into-everything granddaughter here tomorrow though so nothing might get done again!

Hello everyone, it seems you have all been very busy this weekend:D

Well Yesterday i hit 100:j but still finding carp related to me within the house. My mum is actually getting excited, as she believes i am moving out again... huh!
I have traded in my CDs, Dvds, books and some games(DS+PS2) with Amazon =£23.55, Zapper=£13.06 and MusicMagpie=£17.17:beer:
I love Amazon, as i am getting £22.30 for one book, whilst the others including webuybooks were offering me 30p:rotfl:. I will be posting these parcels tomorrow.

Today i went to the recycling centre with a load of stuff, even one of the guys who work there was shocked to see the amount (5 bin liners full of paper, 1 full bin liner of old clothes and the rest was metals, electrial items and old batteries).

I still have the the CS to sort out, as i am having problems finding one that will accept stuff. Will have to try the ones near work tomorrow...

All of my personal papers were sorted out yesterday, it took about 2 hours of constant shredding until the shredder cut out from over heating... oops. But its now all done.

So hopefully all of this stuff will be gone by next weekend.

I am totally exhausted now, but so happy to see my hard work...

    Sylvia

  • Car boot sales - I turn up, lock the car and have a browse. After all, it's the only chance I'll have to buy more [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] useful stuff!
THE perfect handbag is a myth. I have several! I make them myself, so I know they're the right size with the right number of pockets etc - but I have at least 4 that I rotate according to what I'm doing. Plus of course, because I've made the bags myself, I then don't want to get rid of them - most of them have cross stitch on, and I'm convinced no one else will appreciate them as they should:rotfl:
Good luck with the new week everyone!

I have a huge bag of fabric scraps to get rid of and no idea what to do with them. Freecycle is a no-no, having wasted two evenings for someone to come and collect something last time, I'm not going there again. I might ask the scrap store if the want them - but they would need to collect and I'm not sure if they would.

Just wondering if you have a local primary school, or preschool, or toddler group close by who I'm sure would be thrilled at receiving a bag of fabric bits for crafts and collages? If you can't get to them, have you any neighbours with young children who could pick them up from you and take them along? If I lived near you I'd jump at the chance of taking them off your hands and passing them on!!

Well done on all the decluttering you've got done over the weekend :)

    Ditch 100 in January Challenge

I went through my kitchen cupboards and got rid of a worrying amount of stuff. I swear there were things that were fermenting at the back of the cupboard - eek!

I am therefore up to 50/100.

Well our ebay carboot lot jumped up by £4.50 in the dying seconds of the auction :) Don't know yet when it's being collected as OH is arranging that. He also sold a big box of 77 dvds on facebook which are being collected tonight :j

I have a small ebay item to post this morning

Ironing to do then put away and might try and sift a few more items of the DDs' clothes out for selling/charity shop as them seem to have LOADS of stuff. DD2 has 95% of DD1's hand-me-downs, I buy her a few new bits in the sales, plus she gets bought bits for bdays and xmas from family etc. I'm sure she doesn't wear half of it. I took the decision last year that just cos it's been bought in the sale and is cute it's not a bargain because she just won't get the wear out of it with having so many things in the loft that I forget about!

Got some more stuff to pop on the facebook selling pages in a bit

Not a solid day of decluttering as I have to go for the dreaded smear test at lunch time, but at least that'll be one job out of the way for a few years!

    Back again

62-67 books to charity shop again. Just to mention one thing about giving to charity shops. If you are a tax payer please do register for gift aid. It means the chairty gets even more money.

One quick question how long do you keep cardboard boxes from purchases? I have a microwave I bought approx 4-5 months ago. And I still have the box?

    Yours

If you are my husband yo keep them forever - beyond even owning the item in some cases. However I throw them away as soon as I have taken the item out of the box.

Why do yo uhave the box? Hubby keeps boxes for apple stuff that he knows he will resell when he updates and it sells for more with the box - this I understand. Keeping a box 'just in case' doesn't seem like a vulable use of space though
