I,m sorry to have to tell you the perfect handbag doesn't exist - I've spent years looking for it, training new ones, and being disappointed. Still the searching, buying and training is fun so carry on! :rotfl:(And let me know if you find it please?)
Decluttering this weekend:
12 plastic cutlery into the bin
13 old loft ladder given away to a good home
14 collection of old Prima mags to recycling
15 packaging from new microwave to recycling
16 old shoeboxes - one to recycling, one to store photos
17 another book for Zapp
18 another book for CS
19 Summer coats into storage under bed to clear space on hooks by front door
20 picture hung and more to follow when framed
21 Christmas decs into loft
22 baskets by front door sorted, lots of old bus timetables etc recycled
23 lengths of plastic intended to seal round bathroom window - have resided on the stairs for a year - installed and excess put out for the dustmen, thanks to OHI couldn't be happier!
That'll do for tonight I think.
To the various people asking for motivation - mine is seeing order coming out of the chaos :TThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hello everyone,:hello: hope you don't mind if I join in. Am full of vigour and raring to go. Have been really ruthless since the new year and have already done the garage (with the help of OH). :A Today I de-cluttered the kitchen cupboards and got rid of loads of stuff (some food which was waaaaay past it's sell by date) and also did the shoe cupboard. Managed to fill a whole bin bag full of shoes that we no longer will wear! The next thing is the front room, but that is pretty okay and only a small chest of drawers in there which need to be gone thru.
The biggest one is going to be our bedroom and think that'll be a weekend job, so as I am working next weekend, it'll have to be done in 2 weekends time, although I am hoping to try and do a bit each night after work so it won't be such a task on the weekend.
Haven't managed to read all this thread, but good luck to everyone who is trying to de-clutter in 2012!When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

Well, I've managed a little decluttering today! I went to Sainsbury and they had packs of 5 plastic shoe boxes with lids (designed to hold 1 pair of shoes each) or £5 down from £13, so I got 2 packs for the girls' toys. I've sorted through their ottoman which was stuffed full of toys and other random items, and now it's lovely and neat in boxes. Bonus is that I have a laundry basket full of stuff for the CS!
HUbby is going to take all the CS stuff to the shop tomorrow, then I can crack on and do some more decuttering tomorrow evening:j Currently doing the Swagbucks challenge :j0 -
I always found with car boots that the trick is to have the tables on top of the stuff you want to sell so you can whip them out and create and instant barrier between you and 'them' lol.
Another 18 things put aside for Zapper. A friend I mentioned it to was keen but didn't want to do an order on his own so I said we'd do one together on my account - spread the de-cluttering bug!All that is gold does not glitter

41. newspapers used for painting then recycled. :j
Thats 41/100 for me so far.0 -

Ditch 100 in January 56/100
52. Motorcycle panniers - broken beyond repair; bin
53. Veg steamer - finally snapped the last basket so it went to the tip today. The new one (bought months ago) is mahoosive though and has many buttons which is a bit unnerving.
54. A load of random packing materials.
55. Consolidated another craft box. Found more buttons :embarasse
56. Old laundry basket (damaged) - it's one of these stupid sqaushable things - I put it into the bin, but I am a bit worried I have just created a wheelie bin size jack-in-the-box.
I have a huge bag of fabric scraps to get rid of and no idea what to do with them. Freecycle is a no-no, having wasted two evenings for someone to come and collect something last time, I'm not going there again. I might ask the scrap store if the want them - but they would need to collect and I'm not sure if they would. OH has been scuppering my chucking stuff out plans, so I waited until he was in the bath and double wrapped the old steamer baskets in a plastic bag
I have spent the last three hours moving stuff upstairs as the kitchen people are coming to measure [STRIKE]the spiders [/STRIKE] next week and need the room free of carp. I found the most hideous set of very 1960's very German chalice shaped wine glasses that must have come from the taste vacuum of the out-laws at some point. I need a way to subtly destroy these and make them look like an accident; I can't donate them or they will come back. They need to be broken, and preferably scattered across several countries to stop them reforming.
This is the thing I hate, I don't understand why we have duplicates of everything. I don't need wine glasses. I especially don't need these wine glasses, which look like a souviner from the gift shop of the third circle of hell.MunniMuncha wrote: »Hello everyone,:hello: hope you don't mind if I join in. Done some more decluttering and got rid of some old bath foam I never use, 2 of DS's old cotbed pillows *sigh* (he's a big boy now with a proper size pillow!), 2 cardboard boxes in recycling, plastics in recycling too. DH done some more sorting; he gets really grumpy when he does it so I just leave him to it and smile sweetly when I take him in a cup of tea!
Off to bed now .... goodnight!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
I've only made little steps today towards my quest for a clutter-free home.
1. small pile of paper out into the paper bin
2. Wales fridge magnet in bin - the dog actually took this off the fridge and chewed it up best he could.
3. Catalogue order sorted out of what I'm keeping and what's to be returned. Packaging in bin.
4. Some of the mess on the dining table removed.
5. Tulips past their best and put out and vase washed.
My day off tomorrow so will try and get a few more things done hopefully.2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017
