    I've counted up the items that I've ditched so far but not 'officially' declared for our noble recorder, and this weekend added another 4
    92. weird shaped skirt to CS
    93. face cream that makes me itch to bin
    94. strange & ugly glass rugby ball ornament to CS
    95. book I didn't enjoy to CS

    I've also been extra strict with the recycling so nothing hangs around.

    Ditched 95/100 :j

    Really starting to see the benefit of the decluttering in the bedroom now, and I cannot tell you how much more determined that has made me feel about getting rid of STUFF, cos that is all it is. So today's efforts look like this.

    20. Empty and broken toy chest on top of landing, dismantled and been taken to recycling centre.
    21. Scrap wood left behind from recent and ongoing:mad: work to shower taken to recycling centre.
    22. 9 PS1 games and dance mat advertised on freecycle and picked up by someone who lives in same village as me:j.
    23. DS2's work folders from yr r-2 gone through, keeping stuff in new storage box under my bed and surplus in recycling box.

    OH has also gone through his side of the wardrobe and now has a huge pile of clothes on the bed to go - will either be CS or ebay but need to look through it myself to see what goes where, so will not count this until it leaves the house.

    Keep going everyone we are doing really really well, I am proud of you all.

  • I've just thrown out an old handcream that I've had by the sink but which has been smelling incredibly potent of late. I've decided it's past it's best and so in the bin it went. So that's 53 items now.
    I've also packed up the books that Zapper will collect on Tuesday.
    That's all the decluttering I'm doing today.

    Back again just had a rummage in drawer and well

    55-61 various phone directories and catalogues including a boots Xmas one and I never bought anything from them for xmas :eek: husband just about to put them in the recycling bin.

    Living room is close to be being finished ok not close but closer if you know what I mean. It is tidier then it has been for a long time.

    Pending at the moment books to cs and one broken personal cd player to the tip. I missed taking it this morning.

    So getting there very slowly.

    Yours

    Calley

    I started off so well, until the end of the week when I had a very stressful few days.
    They've taken their toll and I've been poorly the last couple of days. I've lost my energy & determination to declutter, can anyone please inspire me again? :(

    Me too ali, but as cat suggested and you have taken on board relax. :)

    I'm worn out after an afternoon's decluttering - not from the actual decluttering, but from the having to run every single item no matter how small (and even if it's mine) past my OH and having a "discussion" about how it might come in useful, it has sentimental value etc.

    Have managed to make a start on the Spare Room of Stuff where everything ends up, but there's so much in there it made me quite distressed!

    Today's activities have been -

    gathered 60 books for a local charity book stall (vast majority mine - only around 10 his or joint);
    got together 2 big bags of stuff for the CS;
    found some unwanted presents from the past couple of years for charity tombola;
    searched round the house for expired medicine (of which I found a fair bit); and
    found 5 old pairs of glasses to go to the opticians for African charity.

    OH currently not speaking to me and all of the above hasn't made much of a dent, but it's a start and Rome wasn't built in a day...

    Well another productive day here, Hubby sorted through the things I'd asked him to sort through out of the cupboard and agreed to bin some of it and store some in the Loft. I can cope with a little compromise :)

    Also listed a load of stuff on Freecycle, and it was all collected by lunchtime. One man's junk really is another man's treasure!

    Also cleaned my rabbits out so their dirty shavings are now in the bin which will get put out later.

    Finally hubby is stood here ironing so I better go and declutter some turkey and mushrooms into a pie for dinner :)
