Just a couple of tips/observations that work for me so might help someone else.
1) When I pick something up to decide whether to keep it or not I ask myself "Would this be something I would want to buy if I say it in a shop?". If the answer is no, it goes.
2) If I have to make too many decluttering decisions at one time I start feeling uneasy and then sometimes backtrack on the decision made and take the item out of the cs bag. Therefore I don't try and do too much at once. Takes longer to get rid of things but is less of an emotional rollercoaster and in the long term means more things actually make it out of the house:TTheir=belonging to them, There=over there

This is an excellent post. Thank you. :T Particularly number 2) I am aware that I am an emotional shopper, but I hadn't acknowledged that getting rid of things is an emotional rollercoaster for me too. And panic sets in when I try to do it all at once. I will try for 1 or 2 items rather than thinking, all or nothing. Just reading your post mummysaver, made me aware of the panicky feelings I get. :A0 -

Haven't actually got rid of anything today (as all the bins are full) but after OH took the christmas decorations down he put them in the tree box, a bag and two boxes. I've managed to tidy that up so that now they're in one box and the tree box. Lots of space saved there!0
