Took my items to the tip and to the charity shop yesterday afternoon. Whilst looking for the cat under the spare bed I found a second broken DVD player! Why do we keep this stuff? Also got rid of a broken hanging rail, a bag of shoes and cardboard packaging.
That's 20/100 now - but I think I'm going to want to do 100 in February too!0 -
Wow. it's so inspiring to read what everyone gets up to. I need to do a bit more decluttering today.
Plus need to finish tidying bedroom, spare room and what I exuberantly call the 'office'.
Came downstairs this mornign expecting to see a spotless lounge and saw on the floor the following:
1. weighing scales (from weighing eBay items last night)
2. LOADS of cat balls from a game we played on the stairs before I went to bed
3. a camera
4. a tape measure
5. 4 books for listing on eBay
6. a mug
7. a plate with a few straggly grapes
8. 5 sets of rubber stamps
9. a bag of incense
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Don't know why I didn't 'see' this last night. It's all for my eBay listings (apart from 1, 6&7) but even so... I live for the day when I do and I tidy up before I leave the room. :rotfl:0 -
Yesterday was busy, as we managed to get rid of four big boxes of charity shop stuff, mostly old clothes, wool and assorted junk, which brings my total house weight loss to 75lbs!
Today's job is to attack my bedside cabinet, thebedroom shelves and clear the floordrobe so that I can give it a treat with the hooverSurviving the ups and downs of life with DH

Was so inspired by all you lot on here that I have just tidied up the bedroom. In fact, there is no longer a pile in front of OH's side of the wardrobe so he actually may be able to get into it now without swearing, :rotfl:
Found a few items to ebay and some that I just need to give to a CS.
Coffee first and then will attempt to tackle the wardrobe just like MummyEm has done. Also need to put a few things on to cook and bake for the week ahead. Productive day so far!
Thanks for inspiration to get going. :THow long til pay day?

Ditch 100 in January Challenge
Everyone seems to be doing so well, my efforts hit the skids on Friday night when DD2 decided to throw up everywhere
Was so tired yesterday, but I am more determined than ever today to have a good sort out.
So far:
25. Large cardboard box to recycling (we seem to breed them here)
26. old Christmas cards recycled
27.Travel booster seat sold on FB & collected
28. One very messy game involving lots of ink disposed of while the kids were out... (thinking of my carpet )
29. 2 of DS2's fleecy sleepsuits sold on FB - he's getting too chunky now
29/100
I've earmarked a few bits round the house to go on ebay today too, so that's my next job.
Keep going everyone

, which brings my total house weight loss to 75lbs!
:T:T:rotfl::rotfl:Love this way of looking at it!
I no longer have a floordrobe and now have a laundry basket
Four more items to list on ebay - but they are clothes, so I am having a problem photographing them.
Kaz - if you don't want to ebay the brownie uniform, give it to the guide leader; they will often take unwanted and outgrown uniforms to give to kids whos parents have trouble with the cost of the kit.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Ooooo, I have carpet at the bottom of my wardrobe....who'd have known.
Now the difficult part - convincing myself I really WON'T wear those shoes if I haven't worn them for the last 2 years, particularly when they still need reheeling.
Once again - thanks everyone. How long til pay day?

DD and I sorted through her wardrobe. She's like her Dad - a real serial hoarder so it's hard getting rid of her to get rid of stuff that no longer fits/can't be passed down to DS (she did go through a very pink phase!) Anyhow, eventually she finally 'gets' charity shop; I take stuff of hers in and generally come back with something for her. So, with this in mind, today she found:
75 - 82. 7 clothes for CS
83. 1 skirt not good enough for CS but can easily go in the clothes recyling collection tomorrow.
