Well decluttered a bit more of my bedroom - cleared the window sill completely - jewellery box to top of dressing table, ornaments to Lounge bookcase, external hard drive to computer cabinet, so all in right places at last. Scrubbed the window sill as it was black - cats love to sit there and look out of the window at the dogs lol. Scrubbed the top of radiator cover as well, and window frames. All looks good in that area now. Nothing to throw out today, but a lot tidier and cleaner. Another job DONE!! lol0

Suzzee, we use storage boxes to save opened packets of food, rather than improved storage. Others I am sure will come and advise you on this, and also look at Lakeland for kitchen storage ideas.I am going to get a couple of things from there to help me.0

What happens to opened packets of any foodstuff at the moment?
Do you have an emergency store of items just in case you can't get out or a store cupboard for making the most of a budget? Where does that live and is it the best place for it?
Everything that was in your old kitchen: did it need to live in the kitchen:D
How big are the new cupboards?
When did you last use the small appliances?
Are there things that only come out at Christmas? (I'm thinking big foil, large dishes etc)
What do you have that you can already use?

However, his bedroom (a large double one) is now full to capacity and something must de done. Yesterday I got him to sort out some things for the local animal sanctuary charity shop but a lot more needs to go. I may put some stuff in the loft (things he doesn't want to part with yet but never plays with) and hopefully in a few months they will be forgotten and I can get rid of them.
Most of the time he plays with the same few toys (cars, Lego and play figures, a few board games) and the rest get left or played with once a month.
I have read that children with too many toys find it harder to concentrate on playing than those with fewer. So I am on a mission to reduce his toys:cool:
I used to put toya away on a regular basis, for my now grown up girls. I would have boxes of random toys that once every few months I swopped around. it was great, they played with them like they were new. and there was less clutter..
BTW ITS THE WEEKEND:beer: think I might declutter the alcohol shelf tonight as I am not working tomorrow.. as the saying goes.." every little helps":rotfl:today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

I am trying to sort cupboards out. My kitchen is quite modern, galley type, few cupboards and little space for storage.
If you use plastic storage boxes for rice/pasta etc, do you feel that is economical on space? Do you have an alternative system?
Advice please...
X
Hi, we are short on cupboard space too so I keep opened packets & jars in the kitchen cupboards & tins and everything else unopened goes in a big plastic box in the hallway, that way I can still take advantage of the offers. The opened packet I just put a big rubber band over that the postman kindly pops through the door with my mail:TFrugal Challenge £9000

12) A standard A4 box file of papers either shredded if it has sensitive info, transferred to the scrap paper drawer if only printed on one side or recycled.:D

Two tea sets (my late mums) have been sold on Ebay. Not made a huge amount on them but at least they are off to new homes.
I have quite a bit of her stuff and the thing is when I move I cannot take it all with me so I am slowly starting to make headway into donating some of it or selling it on auction. I feel sad about it but the main tea services such as their wedding present is staying with me. In case you were wondering she had five tea services!!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
