Good evening, I got back from work about 3:50 cooked dinner and Mum popped in at 4:45...............I did however sort out a box of hair stuff and make up and got rid of a bag of gibble............not the best start but something...........October outage...1/100!!!!!!
  • Good morning all

This morning I sorted out towels/flannels. Out have gone the old and harsh, now all fit into the cupboard - so another pile gone from my bedroom. I also finished sorting the Christmas decorations and they are out.

I'm finally getting to the luxury of choosing what is in the house, rather than having so much around it makes no odds, so in come the seagrass baskets for indoor storage and out go the plastic baskets that have been so useful but not nearly so easy on the eye. I know myself well enough to know I'll always use these kind of things so I might as well enjoy them!

    6 flannels to rags
    8 beach/bath towels to charity
    ballon pump to freecycler
    Christmas tree lights to freecycler
    2 bags baubles to freecycler
    1 bag tinsel to freecycler
1 star for top of tree to freecycler
2 boxes of Christmas tree decorations to freecycler

I can't believe that I thought we were "minimalist"...ok I suppose we don't have as much stuff as say my parents but....I am finding so much stuff that is just cluttering up the place, so glad I joined!

    So far today:

    17. Broken toolbox
    18. Unused grinder
    19. dvds
    20. cd case
    21. Shredded all the bills etc that were old and no longer needed.
    22. Rusty broken scissors
    23. Timer
    24. Old jumper that did "nothing" for me

    Good luck everyone for today.

Thank you, I will need it!
I started yesterday by sorting out food cupboards as there were some things there that I had hoarded & just never used and couldn't see myself using (spices, baking stuff etc) so I bit the bullet & threw them out. I find throwing food stuff out really difficult morally. I would have liked to have given them away but since they were all at least 5 years out of date I couldn't think of anyone who would accept them. Not many peeps I know get the frugal thing!

So now I have rearranged it all so I will start using up things where possible rather than adding more supplies so I have a far more sensible looking stash in my store-cupboard rather than a woman expecting a war at any time soon.:rotfl:

    Hi all x
I had a mad half hour of clearing yesterday whilst the little man was having a nap!
I cant remember half of what I threw away but basically emptied the drawers and cupboards in our sideboard and bookcase :ji can now fit in it what i had put on top of it lol :T:T
It amounted to a full black bag, two folders from an old jobs training day to recycling a few coat hangers and some cardboard - I also started boxing up the cookbooks to go upstairs out of the way while we decorate the dining room x
    Felt good!

I've had a busy morning, ironing, cleaning and sorting the dreaded paperwork pile. I really feel as though I've achieved something this morning.

    Loads of useless paperwork shredded
    Old holey socks binned
Cobwebs cleared and a spider rehomed
A few old potted bedding plants now on compost heap, looks so much tidier on the patio wish I cleared them weeks ago!

I really want to clear/ get rid of all those bits and bobs I've acquired over the years - I'm aiming for a little every week.

    Hello everyone

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday evening. I certainly did some chucking out yesterday. My muscles are killing me. Didn't literally sit down until after 9.30 pm last night. Wrecked today :):):)

    recycled and burnt papers
    recycled plastic bottles
    bags rubbish from bedroom bins
    recylced glass
cleared whatever was left in utility room into middle of kitchen floor and sorted. Looks like a new room.
Too much stuff to even start writing it down.
Now need to clean the doors of the cupboards.

cleaned 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs
    ........... 2 bedrooms downstairs.
Upstairs hall and stairs all cleaned too. Never seen so much dust in my life.

Have all clothes washed and now only have bedlinen to do. One load dried overnight on clothes horse and there is now another drying as we speak.

Sun shining now and again but its not worth the risk of hanging them out to dry and then getting them sodden again. So I am sticking to the slow but sure option. I refuse to put the tumble drier on.

Have some bits sitting on dining table to farm out to rooms and some items heading to the bin etc too.

Walked around my house this morning into the rooms that were tidy and it made me feel so relaxed. Just have to keep going.

So slow cooker on for dinner tonight going to have a sit down with a cuppa until after 2 and then take off again. My feet are killing me. I seriously need to lose weight.

I have a workman arriving on Friday and I need to have a few areas cleared for him so that will be done tomorrow. Visitors on Thursday so need to have my kitchen/dining/living room area tidy and clean. (oh my goodness :( )So onwards and upwards.

Yesterday was a tough day but the rooms that I cleaned had very little clutter in them and that is the only way forward folks. The less we have the easier it is to clean around.

Need to get 10 pictures taken for ebay between now and darkness, so thats another thing to do.

Keep going everyone. We all help each other by posting our progress.
    thank you.

Well done all, there is some serious decluttering going on here!

Have a few things I want to move, but can do nothing at the moment as both of us have stinking colds :(

Have some huge cushion pads which need to go in a space bag - dont you just love space bags!

Have got some fabric out ready to make some new table napkins and am waiting on the RSPCA collecting the biggest box of stuff ever!! :T

So, am snuffling, listening to a story CD and feeling sorry for myself. If you want to bring chocolate, you can visit :rotfl:

Have a great day all. Sniff sniff
