    Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is OK. it sounds like there has been lots of productive decluttering going on!

Well, the decluttering is going quite well here, though slower than I'd have liked - looking after my little girl has a lot to do with that!

I did finally get round to sorting out the top half of the big kitchen cupboard and the larder cupboard the other day, so pleased with that.

I took another carboot full of stuff to the tip this week and have decided to copy someone else's idea (apologies - can't remember who it was on here) and have got a big bag for charity shop stuff to sell and another one for rags which i am going to keep in the bedroom, so i can put things in as I find them.

My OH has been quite supportive of the decluttering. He doesn't like all the 'stuff' around the house either, but is a bit of a hoarder and tends to move things around rather than getting rid of them. However, he has got some stuff down for me to go in the car to the tip and has made very little fuss about it all. Next step is to 'encourage' him to declutter his toiletries shelf in the ensuite. Also his pants and socks drawers for the rag bag.

Hope everyone has a productive weekend. I am going to declutter the other drawer under our bed and sort out my wrapping paper, tags etc and put them in there.

  • Hi,

Can I join in for "Out in October"?

I have done pretty well in the Summer I managed to clear out my entire attic so now there is not one thing up there! But now it is all around the house and all in my 'en bloc' garage so I need to make a start on those places.

We also don't have really much stuff as we are only in a 2 bed house, but OH wants to move to a big house now we have baby, but as we are close to being MF I would love to stay here so thought if I clear the clutter it might make the house feel bigger :rotfl:

I am going to start my October list now, even though it is a bit early, I would like to do 100.

    So far:

    1. Bunch of baby clothes (CS)
    2. Cat Carrier (CS)
    3. Sleeping bag (CS)
    4. Rechargeable Screwdriver (donated)

    So 4/100 so far today.

    Wish me luck :)
  • Off out to toddler group now but had a decent (as decent as a sore pregnant lady can get) nights sleep so hoping after toddlers, the youngest will kip and i can crack on with something productive! x

Hi foxblade, good to have you here. It sounds as though you have a real motive, so I'm sure you can make a big difference. A great start on the attic!

  • Gave neighbour some boxes of pouch cat food from the kitchen cupboard - our cats won't eat it lol. That has made a little bit of room - meant to do it ages ago.

4 tea light holder thingies into the charity shop box, along with a car stereo that was given to me by a friend when he scrapped his car, but my car is too old and won't take it :(

My box room is full of boxes for donating now. Another couple of weeks and the whole lot will be gone to the hospice for their boot sale.

Two big grocery bags off to the bottle bank this morning as well. Am determined to use up the huge condiment collection in the fridge.Am down to one open jar of jam now. Sauces are next! At the same time I'm starting to work down my pantry so that I can fit the bits that live on the counter into the presses. Will make the kitchen look much less cluttered

  • Can I join in for October outage please? Been busy with the LO (3 months now); whilst I have got rid of some things there is lots that needs sorting still! And with a baby comes lots more stuff!

Starting with the bathroom first - there is a pile of toiletries in the corner under the sink. Have taken them out the room and now need to sort. First steps... once bathroom done am going to treat myself to new bin in there. Old one is metal, rusted, and too small - was a gift 6 years ago. Hoping to get a plastic one this time!
