Not too much decluttering today: had a friend come round for lunch so before she arrived I got all my fabrics out and prepared some morsbags. Haven't finished them so won't count them yet.
Also gave my friend the following:
171. Pricking mat (for pricked cards)
172. Pricking tool
173. Pricking templates
174. Pair of craft scissors
175. 2 small pieces of fabric (well, every little helps)
and sorted out
176. Craft magazines that will be passed on
I've got the day to myself tomorrow as hubby is out with a friend, and then he's going out to dinner with ex work colleagues, so I've got a run of about 12 hours to do as I wish!!! Hoping to get some sewing done, and to make a final effort on my 'to do' list and get all the bitty things done, so I can start the September Sling by decluttering my clothes. Might fit in a trip to the charity shop as well if I can.
We're really seeing a difference now that so much stuff has gone. Surfaces are tidy, and if anything gets left on them during the day, they're put away in their right homes before bedtime. It's so lovely to get up to a tidy house!
Good luck for the last couple of days of August everyone - Keep Calm and Carry On Decluttering!!!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Morning all
Everyone has been doing so well. Had a half day last Friday with the intention of making inroads into the loft but spent it shopping instead! When I got home I did however manage to declutter two draws from the bedside cabinet while watching various horror movies so that was something. That was the extent of my decluttering.
I have listed on Freecycle a DIY Manual and that is being collected Saturday. Also listed a Hello Kitty mouse mat and wall clock, woman emailed to say she would like it, replied and said it was hers and not heard back. I think I will just offer it to the next person on the list now. Also responded to a freecycler who wanted a Sky Plus box, they said they were interested so I replied re a time for collection and again nada. It is starting to annoy me when people say they want things then just drop off the radar. why bother if you're not going to actually follow through.0 -

Good morning fitnessfreak74, I've also had a bit of problem with a freecycler not turning up and I felt like giving up, but it was worth persisting. I've got rid of quite a lot of furniture, even to the extent of one freecycler (not the one who'd let me down) taking what she wanted then asking if I had xx, which was the article not collected earlier. Don't give up - it's great when it works!
1 tea trolley - freecycler
1 dead houseplant - gone0 -

Hi silentsister
I would say for every one freecycler that turns up/ responds etc there is one who doesn't :-( well that's it now, have offered it to the next person so if the first one contacts me now tough really.agree though, it is great when it works especially when the people take the trouble to thank you afterwards, gives you a nice feeling inside :j

We had a problem with our central heating! So OH had to up in the loft last night so while he was there I asked for a couple of lampshades which I knew would be there. The first matching pair he picked up were so old I'd forgotten I had them.
My declutter list for today is....... Pair of horrible coloured lampshades that were given to me by my MIL for our daughters bedroom. I never put them in her room, they were the wrong colour even all those years ago :rotfl:
Boiler repair men have now finished so I must go shopping. Not frivolous shopping unfortunately but supermarket shopping.0 -
Read on another MSE forum that eBay are doing a free listing for private buyers (up to 100 listings) from 1st September to 9th September, which is great for us declutterers. I have checked the eBay site but cannot find it mentioned, so maybe someone else knows?Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal
