You can have some awesome holidays based on the GBG! You can find some decent pubs even with a 5 year old version but it's always best to use the new one as it's been updated with closures, change of landlord, whether they've acquired a brewery out the back !

    Good evening fellow declutterers.

Not much happening on the decluttering front. Busy having coffee with friends and shopping with DD.

Threw out a pair of worn out slippers. I actually tripped over in these the other day, the top has come away from the bottom so DH deemed them dangerous. With that in mind I treated myself to some new ones. My feet will be warm and cosy this winter.

We have ordered a set of drawers to house stationary/greeting cards and wrapping paper/printing paper/pens and pencils/homework supplies etc it arrives on Tuesday so will have a good sort out when we see just what fits in.

Bye Bye clutter, hello organised home.

    Have a lovely evening.

  • I haven't posted for a while as I haven't done much decluttering, but still following you all faithfully.

Yesterday I did have a mini tidy up in the cellar, but can't think of anything I decluttered.:o

98 one dried up pen binned
99 and 100 two plant pots to cellar

So,that's my target.A bit of a struggle this month. The sitting room table is piling up with paperwork again.:o

I'll have to plan my numbers for next month.100 might be too much, but there's still a fair amount to be done...

    Well done everyone.:)

Good point marmiterulesok, I've not been able to reach my book quota in August - so it looks like I've overstretched myself there. I think next month I'll still have a separate target for books, just to keep things moving but I'll make it lower. For me it would be easy to say I'll give the overall number a miss this month, but I know how much it's helped me to have this target, and there is still so much I need to move on. I'm pleased to have started moving out furniture but it's the smaller stuff that drags me down. So that's it. I think I'll aim for 25 books and 100 other things. I will have a couple of breaks for visitors so I think this could be realistic.

PS 3 dried pens to bin
  • Big pat on the back all round :grouphug: sounds like quite a few people are struggling as the month ends. GUAGs can hide anywhere, the pesky little blighters, you never know where you'll find them :rotfl: Remember every one thing out of your house is making your house less cluttered, great things from small acorns and all that...

    73. squeezy thing for top of mop bucket that doesn't actually fit the mop bucket - in the bin
    74. long-handled dustpan & brush - to CS for me to use rather than the hoover, which is low and hurts my back (ahhhh)
    75. lettuce gone green and not the green it should be  - in the garden/vegetable waste bin
    76. fennel gone funny - in the garden/vegetable waste bin
    77. small pile of papers - shredded
    78. unreasonable and unexpected bill from allergy clinic  - returned!! ;)
    79. broken necklace (costume jewellery) - in the bin
    80. bus fare for journey home given to young volunteer with no money and it was raining

ziggy you sound really perky, hope things are on the up for you xx

Right so I've 20 to do by late Friday late. I should make it....

Off to watch 'who do you think you are? I LOVE family history.

Yes,got to keep the momentum up!

I'm impressed nonetheless by your decluttering. But like you say,it's often the small things that drag us down.

So,I think I'll 'just' go for a target of 50 in September and see where it takes me.

I'm also going away on holiday towards the end of the month and am having visitors over, which of course means a mega tidy up.Maybe that'll motivate me to do a bit more 'flingage'!
