  • Ok, can't remember everything but here's what I achieved this afternoon

98-118) clothing items from my wardrobe in the charity bag
119-125) school socks of dd's from last year, all faded and bobbly in bin
    126) book in charity bag
    127) full bag of rubbish from various parts of my bedroom
    128) bottle of moisturiser gone all yucky binned
    129) bottle of old perfume doesn't smell nice any more binned
130-136) few bits of clothes not fit for charity shop binned
    137) shoe box recycled
    138) handbag in charity bag
139-150) clothes for niece bagged up ready to go
    151) magazine recycled

Feel great seeing my room tidier, have cleaned my windowsill and windows and will Hoover through and change bed tomorrow. Have listed a few bits on Facebook and have a box full for eBay ready to list after my hols. Have found nearly £35 in cash from emptying old handbags and general tidying and dd's money box is feeling very heavy from all the slummy so she will be happy:)
Well done to all for the decluttering efforts, keep up the great work all :T

My parents bought us a new microwave today to replace our broken one. The old one was very big but the new one is small and neat - thanks mum and dad!

So, as the old microwave had to go to the tip immediately, I looked around for other stuff to take. Found some packaging and more magazines to recycle, and a bag of crockery for the charity shop. The microwave box has already been utilised for storage in the loft - I've taken some stuff from the conservatory and stored it away.

Back to work tomorrow so the decluttering will slow up, but I have sorted out 2 bags of books to take in with me. I'd love to have the house decluttered and organized by the middle of the half term holiday - then I can enjoy the run up to Christmas! :)
  • Not much today as I had a day off from decluttering, plus we had to go out lunchtime and when we got back I needed a nap!

    162. Ear buds - homeless shelter bag
    163. Brads/eyelets/snaps (all from crafting) - friend
    164. 6 craft containers - friend
    165. 2 used up printer inks - in garage to go to Rymans to be recycled
    166. 2 teddies - local charity
    167. 1 nylon backpack that the teddies were in - local charity
    168. Last of the brandy (courtesy of hubby), bottle in glass recycling
    169. Made 3 cards today, so 3 cards, 3 envelopes and 3 cello bags

I will get around to tackling my clothes one day... think I'm saving that up for September! I'll probably need a whole day, and have to try on everything to see if it's staying or going. I do tend to hoard clothes as well, I'm always buying them in the charity shop if I see good makes and they are in good condition. Just need to sort them and wear them!
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

I have been unable to clean the cupboard for the most of the last 2 years so it was neglected.. I do love it clean and tidy and binning all that stuff we never use was so liberating.. but seriously.. who NEEDS 16 pot sponges? 3 bottles of bleach or 4 cans of raid?

I did discover after not buying dishwasher tablets for over a year we had 4 left!!! cue quick dash to tesco!

    So far today:
189 - 209. lever arch files put onto Freecycle
    210 - 211. books into CS bag
212 - 215. a pile of docs & hand outs from various courses.

Lots of dust from the attic bookcases :o

    Update:
    216 - 219 garments into fabric recycling
220 - 224 another batch of course folders and work sheets into the paper recycling, liberating another 60 or so polypockets.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

I bought a secondhand chair but sold two. I asked a friend for help to load photos on Gumtree and she asked if she could have them.

Also, threw away loads of old makeup brushes and a few old lipsticks. The lipsticks had a funny smell to them, do they go off? Well I obviously didn't like the colour of those lipsticks or they would have been used.

I still have lots of decluttering to do and will continue with this thread as you give me the encouragement I need. THANK YOU.

Poured some old moisturiser into the bathroom handcream dispenser, waste not want not. It was toooooo greasy on my face yet perfect for my hands.

Much, much sympathy Callisto. I'm currently in recovery, and trying to clear the stuff out of the house before my dosage is reduced.

Rather than thinking that you're not doing well with decluttering - or whatever - lower your targets instead. Just say, for instance that you'll declutter 5 things this week - or whatever you think you can manage. This is what I'm hoping to be able to do. rumblytum

Do something to treat yourself every day - light some candles, put favourite music on, have a bubbly bath, walk on the beach etc etc
