Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

I have had a really productive day today. Window cleaner came this morning to clean the windows inside and outside, he also cleaned the conservatory roof. It has made such a difference and well worth the money. This inspired me to wash the net curtains and the duvet. All blinds has been wiped and we have hoovered the whole house thoroughly. Several carboard boxed have also been put in the recycling bin.
Good luck with your decluttering.
Sounds excellent Becky - well done!
I've also washed all the duvets & curtains recently, but as it was technically before I started listing, I won't count it this time. Just two more to add to my August list (slowly but surely):
2. Various empty odd boxes thrown out.
3. New-ish laptop bag given to family member.
Keep up the good work everyone!

'The room makeover btw is not going to involve much expense or buying of things. We went round the Ikea room sets last week and wht she really wants is (a) a dressing room area and (b) purple. So I bought her a £10 pair of purple curtains and we'll turn her current ones (white crushed velvet, bought by my mum for my bedroom 35 years ago!) to the rear to make good thick linings. A new duvet cover and sheets and one tin of purple Plasti-Cote to spray the drawers on her CofDs, also from my teenage bedroom. And I have some remnants of purple crushed velvet and sari fabric to make cushion covers from and cover her desk chair. So that's using things up, mostly, rather than buying in new. The rest is just rearranging.'
Val,
What great ideas for re-use! You are so creative :T
Wish I could sew...

Wow Loopychriss, I thought that I had a productive day yesterday! Well done!
I finally managed to get DS to help me sort out his clothing yesterday so,
13-16 Four bags of clothes to CS
17-18 Two bags of rags to the CS that has a notice in the window asking for them.
19 School rugby top to a neighbour who is starting school in September (DS is hopefully going to be in the 6th form).
20-22 Two mugs and a glass to the CS.
Happy decluttering everyone.:)0 -
Only managed a brief declutter today as I must change the beds and do ironing!
Thrown: old hand-brush, cards and tea towels
You're all doing so well, keep up the good work.0 -
I managed to sell my dsi, the games for the dsi id not used for ages plus a silver bangle id never worn (bought for me as) so a few more bits moved on.

I know we feel we're slowing down but that looks spot on for meeting the August target. You're doing so well.0 -
Yesterday I sent the bag of clothes to nieces house
Today had a half hour blitz on dd's room and a half hour blitz on ds's wardrobe. The result was one big box of stuff ready to drop at charity shop tomorrow, one basket full of clothes to sell on Facebook this evening, one box box of rubbish for bin :j
Also posted 3 eBay parcels this afternoon too so quite a productive day even though I have been out most of the time
I have one week before our hols to try and reach my target, I'm sure if I counted each item binned/out the number would be bigger but I am just counting bags/boxes out but I suppose that means I am exceeding my target!0 -
Definite slowing down today, as took granddaughter out this morning and then other daughter and grandson came round. House looked like a bomb had hit it while they were all here!
Took a load of craft bits and pieces (already listed) round to the library to give the Community Wardens for craft projects with the local children. A weight off my mind and shoulders....
Granddaughter now gone home and it's back to normal nearly. Got a viewer for the house tomorrow so a frantic tidy up and hoover will occur sometime tomorrow.
Today's outs:
81. A wooden spoon I found in the loft: gone to daughter and son in law. It's their 5th (wooden) anniversary next month and I asked them what they wanted. A new wooden spoon, he said. So they've got an early anniversary present!
82. 1 external hard drive for computer: gone to daughter
83. Cardboard box containing all the craft bits
Tomorrow is bin day, there's a couple of things lurking in the freezer that will be going, plus some bits hanging around in the garage.
Hopefully I'll get a second wind tomorrow and cross some more bits off my 'declutter list'.Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I had a lovely day and it was nice to spend time with my DS in the evening, also went to see Ted with him and his GF on Sunday, and decluttered a chocolate cake afterwards, lol!
I can't believe I've just had 10 days off work (first day back today), and I got rid of hardly anything! I caught up on a few jobs while I was off, zapped a few cobwebs, gave the bathroom a thorough clean and did some ironing, and I did finish a body spray and a bottle of shampoo, containers gone to recycling, and I took a pile of used envelopes in to work today. Must do better when I'm off on Thursday, lol!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs
