Well, had a day in 'pottering'... managed to sort out the safe and chuck out loads of paperwork, then went through the food stores in the garage. Not got around to my clothes yet - saving them for a rainy day!!!
49. 3 ring boxes - charity bag
50. Expired credit card - shredded
51. Expired NHS card - shredded
52. Out of date jewellery guarantee (not even ours!) - shredded
53. Receipts and paperwork from last holiday (February) - shredded
54. 3 tatty plastic folder wallet things - bin
55. Elderflower cordial - 9 YEARS out of date!
56. Loads of tins, packets and jars that were out of date - going to tip
I know we could probably have eaten the foods that were out of date, but we have loads more and some of the things I really wondered why I bought them in the first place, because we'd never eat them!!! Really must stop buying things on offer 'just in case' we might eat them.
Garage shelves looking a lot neater and tidier, even got a couple of empty shelves all ready to be stocked up again for winter.Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

I was working today and yesterday,so not much done:
-2 more bottles out ro recycling
-4 cups and saucers to cs
-1 container of spray oil for baking, used once and now OOD -horrible stuff-binned
-1 empty face cream tube binned.
I think that makes 151/200.
I might manage more tomorrow-it's a day off.
I have a slight dilemma. In the cellar,I have a medium sized box full of Agatha Christie books-maybe 40 odd books.I haven't even looked at one in a few years, but feel that I might regret giving them away,if I decide to read them again. What would you do?
I could always go through them and keep half? They don't take up much room.
Thanks for any thoughts.0 -
Last night I thought to myself... You deserve a little treat. Went to the goody cupboard and found some Thorntons chocs, I'd been saving these for such an occasion. Sat down with a small drink and choccies. Opened them, not looking great bit white spotty looking. To my horror  they were out of date by a year. Had to throw them away.
Moral of this story.....eat them when you are given them and don't save till a rainy day
Ps. Lots more room in the cupboard without that huge box of chocolates but what a waste
Chocolate would never last that long in my house, lol!marmiterulesok wrote: »

How likely is it that you'll read them again if you haven't looked at them in years? If you did want to read them, you could always look for them in the library or charity shop. I know how you feel though, as I have a lot of books that I've read once, and I think maybe I will read them again, but my problem is that a lot of them were bought by my DS as gifts, so I don't think I could part with those. Must have a look through and see if there are any that I can get rid of.
I've been to work twice since my last post, and each time I've forgotten to take the used batteries and envelopes, so they are still here! Yesterday I did bin a never been used zip lock bag, which was given to me by my mum (a free gift from one of her magazines), as when I took it out of the packaging and tried to unfold it, the 2 halves were stuck together and the bag split as I tried to part them ! There was a money off voucher in with it, that went into recycling, as it was out of date in 1998! (36)

Thanks sue14.
I'll have a look at them first.I don't live in the UK,so they're not that easy to get hold of.There's only one charity shop here that sells English books.I do sometimes go through a phase of reading loads of her books, but obviously not for a while. They're so easy to read and if you wait a while, yoou forget whodunnit!
Is that just a feeble excuse?:o0 -

Hubby had the full collection years ago. We were very hard up so he sold them all. Fast forward to a few years ago and he started building the collection again. They now live in his parents loft and he has a lot on his Kindle, but he still won't get rid of them.Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
Morning everyone,
I am not sure that this counts as decluttering but yesterday we went to visit OHs family and gave his sisters the 2 presents that had sat on the kitchen table for a week.
If it counts I am up to 103.:)0
