While hubby was choosing a shirt for dinner on friday night I quickly sorted 6 shirts he no longer wears and doesnt really like and chucked em in the the charity bag. I do need to clear out my wardrobe, but little n often adds upLight Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0

I'm back after spending a week with a friend - who's also caught the decluttering bug. As I left she was unpicking a motheaten jumper to knit into squares - she'd already sent off 32 (squares not jumpers) earlier in the week.
So it's back to the bookshelves:
61 recycled
45 to cs
1 to friend
then
2 dvd's to cs
10 items to food bank
marmiterulesok, I've also got a shelf of Agatha Christie books. They are mostly from cs and the condition is not good but I do read them over again - they are in my comfort category, and I have many friends who borrow them for the same reason. I have decided to keep them, since they seem to be 'paying their way'. I'll be interested to read your solution.0 -
The last of the easy decisions on the bookshelves:
21 to cs
87 to recycling

65. cards without envelopes - paper/card recycling
66. boxes kept for putting presents in which I won't ever use - paper/card recycling
67. tiny ring box - bin
Sorted through a small area in the corner of my living room. Found 3 bags of paperwork which need shredding. I think that's a job for one of the bumpkin teens
eta Torch coming through near me tomorrow, not sure if I'll go, it will mean train fare and forecast is to rain, will prob just watch local TV round up, I am a miserable so-and-so*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. I'm glad I saw the torch, and there was a good atmosphere in the town. We did have rain, but just showers. It came close to me here, but I think if it meant trains etc I might have thought twice.0

Came right outside my house on Saturday, was quick though so I would definitely not spend money on going to see a quick flash! :rotfl: You certainly see it for longer on the telly.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Yes I did see it. It is over in a quick flash, but the community spirit is worth going for alone. Loved it0

I've managed to get rid of 45 more magazines, and hope that tomorrow morning I can persuade the recycling binmen that 10 large volumes on top of the bin (hopefully not in the pouring rain) will be quite acceptable. There's cardboard boxes to put out as well but I don't think they are strong enough for the encyclopaedias.0
