Am off to Ikea shortly to buy a bed and mattress for the spare room. First time in 9 years it'll be used as a bedroom!
I'm on annual leave this week and forgot it was a bank holiday. Big mistake :(

Managed to cut through, past all the people shuffling around aimlessly and grab what I wanted.
Bed is up, just need to go sort out the rest of the room now. :)

After a flying start in January and February, I noticed that the de-clutter had almost reversed itself. Things were creeping in!
I had to have a bit of a chuck out over the last few days, I am having some work done on the house and my bedroom decorated and I dont want the old cr*p returning when it is all freshly painted.
Glad to see everyone is keeping up the good work.

wow im amazed at how much stuff your managing to declutter Chocolatedrinker.

I can't believe how much stuff is going to the cs already and we only moved into here in feb and its our first house! Another big bag of kitchen stuff went to the charity shop friday. I think it's my mum, nan and aunties fault there using mine and my boyfriends first house as an excuse to declutter their stuff onto me :rotfl:

I loved getting other people's cast offs when I moved into my 1st home, mainly because I had hardly anything (and not much money), my OH was constantly bringing boxes of stuff from his mum and her friends, it was like Christmas, lol! Just make sure you only keep things that you will use and get rid of the rest, I've only recently got rid of some of the things we were given which weren't used, and I'd had them for over 20 years!
another 40 items to the charity shop - 228/300. I'm having a massive clear out as we're going to put the house on the market later on this year. At lot of it was books - got rid of a lot of books I was keeping to read again, but hadn't read them more than once several years ago.

Well done on getting rid of so much, you're putting me to shame, lol! I've kept quite a few books to read again, but I'm not sure if I ever will as I've still got lots to read for the 1st time, so maybe it's time to get rid of some.

I'm ashamed to say that despite having 4 days off, I've not done much decluttering, but I have sorted some ebay stuff and written the listings in a word document, ready for listing on the next FLW, so I can just cut and paste to save a bit of time.

I have 2 binbags full of shoes, dvd boxsets, toys and clothes to go to the charity shop first thing tomorrow. Plus the bed packaging needs to go to the skip as well.
Am planning on going to the QVC outlet shop in Shrewsbury tomorrow for some new bedding for the new spare room bed. Would be rude not to have breakfast out :)

I've been lurking on here quite a bit and you lot are an inspiration!! I haven't been keeping count but I have been being ruthless with stuff that can be thrown away.

I do have a question though, how do you sop being too lazy/scared to ebay stuff? I'm at the point where I just want to chuck everything into charity bags but feel that it's be a waste!

    What shall I do?

I used to eb@y but it got to be a bit of a hassle. It barely made a dent in it, and although I made money on big ticket items, for the smaller stuff it wasn't really worth my time.

I just choose my favourite charity, one very close to my heart, and they are getting anything I think they can make a few quid out of.

My post office is in a pedestrianised centre so lugging boxes about with two toddlers in tow is a pain in the @rse...

I figure once I'm on top of it all, then I can start ebaying the good stuff again...
