I've been lurking on here quite a bit and you lot are an inspiration!! I haven't been keeping count but I have been being ruthless with stuff that can be thrown away.

I do have a question though, how do you sop being too lazy/scared to ebay stuff? I'm at the point where I just want to chuck everything into charity bags but feel that it's be a waste!

    What shall I do?

Ebay used to terrify me too. What I ended up doing was e-baying all the stuff that would sell for over a couple of quid (and hence start them at that price). Carboot the rest and then Charity shop what was left from both lots. That way you've had your crack at making money and then the charity shop gets theirs!
If you don't feel like ebaying you could always resort to zapper/musicmagpie/momox for books, dvds and games and cash for clothing for those bits and then donate the rest? I find that easier. It doesn't pay the best but for minimal effort (type in barcodes, put in box, take to post office, get sent cheque) it works. And again you getting a bit of cash but then donating the rest.
I kind of see it as I need some cash, the charities need cash. Let's split my carp lol :D

I have thrown away some old paper napkins, an amaryllis and two candles that wouldn't burn properly. Feeling quite pleased with myself.

The paper napkins were at least 10years old! Kept for emergencies, who am I kidding they were cheap and nasty (why did I keep them so long???)

Wow I've just found is thread, please may I join?
I'm expecting our first baby in September, but due to SPD I'm going to be at home until I go on maternity leave. We bought our first house last Summer and seems we've already filled it with "lovely items" lol. I'm determined to get decluttered, although it seems with the baby stuff we are gaining more clutter. Yday we started decluttering the spare room/nursery so here goes.....
In a bag for charity shop
    5 handbags
    4 tops
    1 skirt
    7 candles
3 tubes of shower gel etc
    6 pairs shoes/boots
Some tubes of toiletries I think about 5 so far 31/100

I have a box for eb*y which I'll count as I put on there and sell. Have a pile of CDs ready to scan for MM which again I'll count as I scan and send them. Almost thinking of jumping out of bed and start sorting things out.

:) Well, I spent part of yesterday shopping for a major household item and arranging a Freecycle pickup for the item it's replacing, so I'm not counting one in/one out as dejunking. Gonna be busy this Wednesday when the changeover happens!

    Between times, a little sorting was done and a couple of bags will go to the c.s. when I go out in an hour or so;

From the 100 for May list.

    21. 6 dried-out pens, binned.

    22. Lemon juicer - moulded glass- unused. c.s.

    23. Notebook. c.s.

I have a small electric appliance up on Freecyle with a lot of interest, so put the names into a hat a drew one, emailed them yesterday evening and am awaiting a response. What would be the consensus on etiquette in such a circumstance; leave it 24 hrs and if they haven't got back to me offer it to one of the others?

OK, going to comb thru a few other places at random moments between doing other things. Might as well; weather is atrocious and I don't feel much like gardening.

Hope everyone has a productive day. GQ x

    23/ 100 in May.

I just stick everything on eBay for a couple of listings and then bung it in a bag for the charity shop when it gets no interest, got another bag to take down there today. Need to update the spreadsheet too.

Got lots of watchers on things just hoping they turn into bids. Going to declutter and clean the bathroom this afternoon.

:) Well, been out and about this morning. Two bags of previously-itemised thingies are now with the c.s. where I'm registered for GiftAid so they can get some extra money from the tax man.

New c.s. bag has been started.

    24. a DVD.
    25. a book.
    26. another book.
    27. pair of specialist sports shoes for a sport I don't play.

    Plus........

    28. 5 batteries to a battery-recycling thingy in a shop.

    28/100 things in May.

Keep on with the good work, peeps.

I have 2 binbags full of shoes, dvd boxsets, toys and clothes to go to the charity shop first thing tomorrow. Plus the bed packaging needs to go to the skip as well.
Am planning on going to the QVC outlet shop in Shrewsbury tomorrow for some new bedding for the new spare room bed. Would be rude not to have breakfast out :)
Well, the bed has all new bedding now and is due it's first guest on Friday night. Didn't buy it in QVC but did buy some new towels in there.
And we also had a Maccy D's breakfast :D

Back to normal, boring housework now as the ironing pile is looking at me :o

Well my Grandmother would have said 3 - one on, one drying and one airing! Thats the method she applied to vests anyway!!:rotfl:

I struggled with storing duvet covers and pillow cases until my very good well organised and a bit OCD ( her term ) friend showed me - Obvious really! Fold cover up and put inside pillow case with any extra pillow cases and sheets that match/ go with the set. Makes an easy square shape to put on a shelf or in a drawer and everything is kept together! I bet I am the only person in the world who didnt do this...........now a complete convert:rotfl::rotfl:
Wow, that is just SO obvious!!! Why didn't I think of it? I know what will be next on my to do list now (anything to avoid the ironing, lol).

eta: Just read that back and it sounds sarcastic. It's most definitely not though. I think it's fab.

:THey, I have tried to motivate myself to declutter and earn a few pennies. I've found loads of old IT cables so thecablerecyclingcompany are like the rag and phone man and pick up any old cables from you and pay you too!
