Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

I just persuaded OH to build the bookcase which has been hogging hallway space since December!! That means I can empty a few boxes of books and find a bit of floor space upstairs.. It is filling up with Star Trek, Peppa pig and teletubbies dvds at the moment..
but I will have some space back.
Sorting bits out to drop with DS1 and DD1 this week.. operation space is going to move along! I am considering renting out this house and seeing if we can rent somewhere with an extra bedroom.. I need somewhere to put the baby and it is going to be at least another 3 years before we have a spare room and I don't want her in with me that long.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Had a productive afternoon in dd's room, have a bag of stuff for charity stuff and binned/recycled a few bits....
Doodles and scraps of paper recycled
Broken hangers - bin
Few hair bobbles past their best - bin
Felt tips that have been left without lids! - bin
Few random toys without purpose or missing pieces - bin
I also posted 5 eBay parcels this morning0 -
Got rid of 42 outgrown baby/toddler items on Sat at our local NCT sale, netting £55:j. Also spent £26 and purchased some items for the next stage but they're not clutter so won't count them!!!!!
Sorted out some of the returned clothes to sell on ebay. Today I looked into the new postage charges and discovered that for parcels there will be a flat rate for 0-750g rather than tiered rates like now.:eek: Rate being £2.70 1st, £2.20 second. I suspect that will mean I will need to offer the baby clothes in bundles rather than as single or double items, in order for it to be worth someone spending £2.20 on postage.
A question to the regular ebayers on here who always seem to be getting bids on their items, what is it that you are selling? I sell mainly outgrown kids clothes but don't often get many bids, so wondered what the successful were selling.Their=belonging to them, There=over there

I sell a lot of my daughters clothes and shoes, next clothes sell really well so I tend to sell them separately and some others I put into mixed bundles. I have recently started listing lots of items and scheduling them to start at a later date then start them immediately on free listing days, so handy!0 -
I decluttered 90 sewing patterns on ebay yesterday. It feels so good to be getting rid of so much at last. 20 more to post today then lots more things to relist.
I was on 51 items decluttered. Can I call it 100 now?business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I have 15 things listed and need to whizz through my box and see what else there is in there to list..
Stuff sorted for DS1's house.. might ring actually and see if he is home we can drop it off on the way to school
Carrycot, monitor, changing mat, box of baby toiletries, The baby is still using the chair so they'll have to wait for that.. but baby isn't due until August.. I do need to get a new car seat for mine before then as I said they could borrow ours.. seems stupid to buy a car seat they don't have a car for.
DD1 has a large bag of baby clothes here, toiletries, baby chair, bath, top and tail bowl, changing mat and a breast pump.. I'm dropping off at hers later this week.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I'm at home, feeling rotten so not posting my 2 parcels today going to do it tomorrow. I have loads of watchers at the moment so hoping that will turn into bidders.
With the postage charges changing I have had to change what I'm listing. Anything that will go through large letter I have just slightly upped the postage, anything that is parcel size I will only sell if it is worth £2.20 postage which is fine for clothes but some items it just isn't worth it anymore so they will go to the charity shop.0 -

Also I've done some more shredding/recycling of paper, mended all OH's holey socks, a couple of cushion covers and a pair of trousers, which were all in a bag beside the sofa, took another 8 used envelopes in to work, and this morning I did a pile of ironing.
Hopefully tomorrow I will be going to see my dad, so I will have a few more outs then, but will count them when they are actually gone.
