Aiming for the attic at the weekend
Gird your loins. That's what we're in the throes of doing and it feels good to get it underway, but it's been ongoing for about a week now and while the attic is beginning to look fabulously clear, and I think we've actually had our own landfill hole allocated to us at the tip, the house looks like a war zone.
Going to plough on through it this weekend, and just pray that there's no crisis that involves any of the emergency services being called round to effect any kind of visit or rescue. They'd think our house was a den of squalor, and that we were slovenly slobs with a penchant for covering things in dust and bat poo, stuck in the 1980's who couldn't let go of their children's art work or any book they'd ever read...Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
I have just had the most lovely day dusting, hoovering and steaming the lounge and dining room! Both now all clean and shiny and guess what, no carp! DH keeps saying, have you done the desk? yes! The filing cabinet? yes! Leaving the dining room chest for him. Huge thing with 5 drawers, full of his blinkin' cds which are, of course, on itunes but he has to keep the physical copies too,:eek::eek:.
So today I also:
76-79. Posted 4 ebay parcels. I also took my profit out of the paypal account today and despite buying (:o) a Boden jacket and skirt (ebay boden, of course) at the weekend, I am £88 up!
80-81. Puzzle and game in car boot box.
82. Got rid of all the easter cards, my birthday cards and ds birthday cards. Also a couple of broken toys. Counting this as 1 item though as I need to keep going!
I have to say that being on these forums has really changed my outlook (and home!) for the better. I am so much more organised! The money I've made on ebay (I'd never sold before I came on here) is £11 short of the trampoline the kids want and I still have 12 things listed at 99p!!!!:T:T:
 Big hello to you fairyclicks. Good luck with your first 100. I'd love to have a craft business too, got to find something I'm good at first!:rotfl::rotfl:Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Really struggling this month after coming up just shy of 200 in March.
Things are a bit desperate at the moment, having got rid of my storage unit and tetris-ing it all into the garage it would appear the garage roof is leaking like a sieveSpent much of the day re-tetrising and strategically placing buckets. I could cry. Anyway.
38-44 clothes to charity shop rag bag
45-47 toiletries used up & containers recycled
48 HIDEOUS christmas cocktail skewer things that were a gift from someone who clearly doesn't like me very much - CS
49 bag of fabric scraps binned
50 dead make-up brush binned
51-52 Had to pull out the PC and printer and rejiggle all the cables as printer connection gone haywire, found two cables that belonged to the modem we threw out a year ago. One was still plugged into the wall
53-56 ebay bits posted
still got about 15 things on ebay, and two tardy payers ...
This month is such a slog. Having water raining down onto all my stuff in the garage ought to be motivation but to be honest I just can't face it right now2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

Hi and welcome to the group. I know that feeling, my spare room is like an ebay warehouse most of the time, lol, but I think it's gradually going down!I have to say that being on these forums has really changed my outlook (and home!) for the better. I am so much more organised! The money I've made on ebay (I'd never sold before I came on here) is £11 short of the trampoline the kids want and I still have 12 things listed at 99p!!!!:T:T:
These forums have helped me a lot too. Before I found the declutter thread I didn't know where to start, now I'm always looking for unused stuff to get rid of, and my home looks a lot better for it. Also I've bought a new fridge freezer and tumble dryer, with the proceeds of ebay sales, and the savings I've made with the grocery challenge, and we've just ordered a new tv and bracket for the kitchen, which is being paid for by ebay and GC savings, and money earned on cashback sites and doing surveys. I hadn't done any of these things before I found these forums.
I went out this afternoon to post the ebay parcel, mentioned in my earlier post, and to put my dad's money in the bank, so that is now out of the house. I also took a bag of carrier bags to CS, as they have a sign in their window asking for old carriers, and also gave one of the bags to a young lad in the bank, who asked me if he could have one to keep his folder dry. The rain was so bad here today, that I had to sit in the car for about 20 minutes waiting for it to stop, as I'd forgotten my brolly!
When I got back, I cleaned the kitchen worktop where the tv used to be and put my breadmaker in its place, so that is a bit less cluttering up the hall, and then I shredded some more paperwork and put the (huge) pile of newspapers from beside the sofa into the recycling box.

Thanks for the welcome everyone
Well i made a start - removed 16 empty cardboard boxes from the spare room  I have a thing about not throwing cardboard in the bin and our recycling collectors won't take it unless its like a cereal packet! Problem is i moved them to the garage :rotfl::rotfl: I do have a plan though - there are mountains of things out there and so they will be getting sorted into the boxes so i will know where things are.
I also listed 14 more books on amazon and 22 more things on ebayfingers crossed for lots of buyers now!

I've got 62 listed at the moment and only 1 with bids, lots of watchers though. Hopefully get some more bids as the items have quite a few days left. Hopefully will shift alot of this eBay stuff as there is so much of it!
Tonight I'm going to sort out all my old receipts for postage, throwing away all those with feedback received and those without I will keep for a while then chuck out. Also updating the spreadsheet so I can see exactly what I made on each item. This is far too organised for me!0 -

The only bat in our attic is an old bat - me!
Fortunately the junk only dates back about 10 years, as I had a huge clean out after Little Sis's house fire. She had to bin huge amounts of smoke damaged stuff. I decided then I didn't want to live under a tinder box, shame I "forgot"
198. another pair of holey socks
199. another book

Hi All
Tried to joing you guys before and then got lost with real life!
Spent all day decluttering various rooms of the house! Have a realtive who is staying with us for a couple of weeks so incentive was to give him a clean room (sleepig in my DDs bedroom) so juggled some of her stuff into DS's room..and then ended up looking under beds and in wardrobes in the boys and my room too! OOPS! Major decluttering mish started...finished round 1 at 2.am :-)
Todays's plan is to get in the kitchen, wash up yesterdays dishes (coz I was too busy decluttering!), get the batch cooking started for this week, and then back up to finish what I started!
Listed some stuff on Ebay last week and all should sell, making me about £20 - only bits and pieces but should be 5 items out of the house.
1 CS bag already in my car boot - will have aother 2-3 to add in a bit. (that's probably my 100 items there!)
Big car boot in a 'decent/posh' venue on 20th May, so will start putting things together in the loft in readiness for this...and aim to make £100 on the day.
Friend came round yesterday and commented on how the house looked much more sparse than normal...ina good way:-)
ALso managed to declutter 3lbs this week so gonna stick with this house cleaning/cooking and clearing away stuff...
Enjoy your sunday everyone...0
