Quick update of the rest of the stuff I managed to declutter whilst the girls were at my parent's house for a few days:

    23. Large bag of recycling from cupboard under the stairs (all tied and organised in there, in fact I've put the ironing board, steam generator iron and hoover in there so they don't have to sit in the conservatory looking untidy!)
    24. Reed defuser that's been empty for ages recycled as I don't really want to refill it
    25. Went through my wardrobe with OH's helpful opinions (that wasn't sarcastic, he actually did help!!!) and have a large bag of clothes to put on facebook or the CS bag
    26. 3 more cards from stash used up (feels like that stash will last forever!)
    27. Gift bag used up (ditto above)
    28. Had a quick tidy of the 'plastics' cupboard in the kitchen and got rid of 6 old drinks bottles and lids. DD's still have 3 each so I think they must have been breeding in there)
    29. OH's very thinly worn holey socks

    29/100

4 items sold on ebay so they will be gone on Monday assuming everyone pays, plus the packaging. Relisted the other bits that didn't sell.

My girls were gone from Sunday till Thursday and I don't think I stopped the whole time they were gone. So much cleaning, sorting, tidying, chucking etc. The house was spotless and looked fab. Then the children returned home with their mess and clutter lol. They are gone again today until tomorrow evening at their dad's so might be able to get a few more bits done :)

Ok, new to this thread, so please excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong place, but we've spent the last two days clearing junk out of the loft as OH is on a mission to board it out so I've finally persuaded him to let go of the 'treasures' that he couldn't bear to be parted from about ten years ago, when it all went up there in the first place. Four estate car bootloads of junk taken to the tip later, it just strikes you how much 'stuff' you can cling onto if you're not careful. I'm an inveterate 'flinger and chucker' myself (I grew up in the forces, and we moved every 18 months or so, so we learned to live light!) but it's the devil's own work to get himself to throw things away, so this weekend feels like a great victory. I swear I heard the house sobbing with relief as all the filthy old carpets, books and detritus headed tip-wards. Out of all the clobber that was up there, there's only one set of stuff that I'm going to have a punt on ebaying - and then only because its free listing this weekend.
Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!

Woohoo, so pleased, yesterday OH and I started to go through his books, in our home there are hundreds of books and was also told yesterday that there is the same amount at his parents. I have spent ages persuading him to let go of some of his books and finally yesterday we started to go through them. A third of the books were kept and the rest will be sold to Zapper or money for clothing. I had a quick look yesterday on Zapper and must say that there isn't much they buy. On Monday I will also advertise a few things on staffnet. I don't do Ebay. Has anyone sold their shoes to secondhand shoe
    shops or websites?

    Good luck with your decluttering.

  • I forgot to quote the post but about what I put on eBay. I just list everything that is of a saleable quality on eBay as I enjoy it, gets me out of the house to post, and gets the stuff out of the house. Decluttering and exercise in one! I'm in no rush yet as it's hidden under the bed.

Today am going to tackle my wardrobe!

trying to keep my total up to date so i have a better chance of reaching the magic 100! I have got rid of an old armchair (tip) and a small sofa (to friend's son) but have gained a "new" sofa (off e*bay) so i'm counting that as 1 out - total is now.......
    Ditch 100 in April 33/100

fingers crossed for some e*bay sales later which i will add to the total once they have been paid for and left the premises:)

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday

Goodness I do seem to be slow this month...maybe I peaked too soon with the March challenge....
    16. Fruit bowl... got a nice new one as a present :) .. so off to charity shop
17- 28 load of clothes, shoes & accessories off to the charity shop for rag bag
    29. ANOTHER dangly tealight lantern...I really wish people would stop giving me the ruddy things! Off to CS
    30. Dartboard from the garage..given to my brother
31-33 three enormous boxes of old game consoles & games (we are talking Sega megadrive old here) returned to my brother after having 'looked after' them for 12 years....
    34. Packet of cleansing wipes, I pulled one out the other evening to find a squished lacewing in the packet...bleurghhh
    35. Old home electrolysis machine. Binned. If anyone is sticking needles in my face it'll be a trained professional not cack-handed me thanks very much
    36. Bunch of sew on patches rescued at some point from old garments..too shabby to use. And I dion't mean 'shabby-chic'
    37. Thermos mug. Took it to bed with me the other night as I wasn't feeling well but it leaks every time you put it to your mouth. BIN!!!!!

Got about 20 things on eBay so hoping some will sell. If so will count them when they get posted.
