A gazebo and a garden parasol thing now listed on fr**gle - OK not from the house where the clutter is but from one of the sheds where I need to put some stuff from the house IYSWIM :)

I was doubtful about garden stuff, but... in my experience, and observation, people with cuttered houses have cluttered gardens, cars, desks sheds, garages etc, etc, etc! :rotfl:

But, where do people draw the line between clutter (which I define as useable, but in the wrong place/house), and simple rubbish/junk, which should have been ditched immediately, like empty shower gel, shampoo bottles and other containers, broken items etc?

Wow another FLW - how fab is that. Eb*y struggling or something;)

I bet they are expecting yet another drop in private sellers, come the end of the month postage rises!

Considering, we, private buyers/sellers made Eb*y its initial fortune, it is time they gave a bit back! Now it has built up its commercial side, it often feels that its original customer base is being forced out.

Clutter: for me this is 'stuff' that I cannot get rid of - emotional attachment, someone else can make use of it or it has as resale value. On moral and ethical grounds I cannot just put it in the bin just to go to landfill.............. so it 'clutters' up the place:( When the emotional attachment appears to have gone or I am on a roll I can clear the place quite quickly - mostly to Oxf*m which satisfies my charitable giving needs - they get something to sell and as a tax payer I can Gift Aid anything they make. At the moment I am keeping stuff because of their resale value - its just helping to beat down those debts:) I use Fr**gle for anything which is big and bulky, wont sell or just odd things like out of date tinned and packet food - not that happens much now I have a menu plan;) And of course I am a teacher so soooooooo many things are very useful - but I am very good and take them straight to school now

    Junk/rubbish:
I am a demon recycler so anything that comes under that heading is straight out and I dont count as clutter - its rubbish! Same for anything broken - toaster, kettle, computer bits etc. Although we tend to take those to the recycling centre now rather than just put in our wheelie. I did sell a broken pair of hair straighteners on Eb*y though - for 'spares or repair' - buyer was very grateful!

  • Has anyone else tried these Facebook groups popping up?

I've joined a local FB group selling or swapping things. I've managed to pass on things to people at a bargain price and pick up things myself. Just yesterday I sold some old Alloy wheels for an old car, and bought a wine fridge and slow cooker with change.

They seem to be popping up all over the place, and there local. :D
