Hello there, I've not posted for some time. Just popping by to declare some outs of 10 items of clothing and 4 postage bags sold via eBay. Also, ridiculously happy to report a UU this morning of a box of rooibus tea. Have moved straight onto another box which actually smells like it's been made from my fireplace ashes  but doesn't taste too awful.
Am happily working my way through my store cupboard and my stock of food. I actually have 2 completely empty drawers in my freezer!
We did buy several items of clothing yesterday from the charity shops but it was all needed. All very nice items of clothing too, am very happy with my purchases :)
    See you soon, kaz.

Escaped from the attic to get some fresh air :cool2:

I have been very impressed by DH's determination - normally he tries to escape after about 30 minutes.

    Good news:
    BIN:
    - a sack full of useless/ un-recyclable rubbish
    - a ripped backpack
    - a broken suitcase

    RECYCLE:
    - two sacks of paper
    - 2 big cardboard boxes
    - 2 broken stacking boxes
    - a carrier of electrical cables, small devices etc
    - 9 glass items
    - lots of plastic bits & pieces (about half a sack)
    - a sack of college bedding, dead cushions, manky towels etc

    BOOTSALE / CS/ EBAY/ GIVE AWAY:
    - three boxes of saleable items
    - a pile of unused folders, poly-pockets & other stationery

Best finds include 22p in loose change, £27 in bagged coins that DD thought she had taken to the bank & a vital insurance document that one of the kids had left behind :T

    Bad news:
That lot was the attic room plus half of one of the two eaves storage cupboards. There's still one and a half cupboards plus three book cases to go:eek:

I'm setting myself a 'make money in May' challenge from my clutter: EBay & Boot sales here I come :D
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • My mission for today, I have 4 hours to have a tidy and get as much listed on eBay as possible. I've had another whip round and the eBay box is full to overflowing!

    .

Fill them with old newspapers or magazines until you put food in there - it's expensive to keep air cold, as it's a rubbish insulator!

I have had a blitz in my utility room and conservatory today, TV that no longer works removed to tip, old huge hi fi removed along with the shelf it stood on, conservatory is much bigger now....or it feels that way.

In my utility room I had boxes that had not been opened for years since we did the kitchen in 2004 I am sure. I have boxed up a load of surplus stuff for a local charity.

I found a box of bottles of wine which might be dreadful but I will test it before buying any more LOL.

A few outs to report since last week:

    35. More used up toiletries from bathroom recycled
    36. Book bag from DD1's old school given to friend
    37. 2 ebay parcels posted
    38. Packaging for above
    39. Stack of blu-rays sold by OH and posted
    40. Soap dish to Nanna
    41. 4 pin badges to Nanna for her pin badge board!
    42. 4 useless rigid plastic straws and pen recycled
    43. Bag of recycling from garage
    44. More Easter egg boxes recycled (think they've been breeding!)
    45. 5 pairs of new socks sold via facebook
    46. New kids torch sold via facebook

On Saturday afternoon we hauled everything out of the garage (aka the holding zone for stuff to sell/donate/carboot etc) and sorted it out into the following categories:
stuff to sell on facebook groups (photographed and got some of it put on and already made one sale! Putting the rest of it on today)
Stuff to put in one big lot to sell on ebay as a carboot joblot
Stuff to try and sell ourselves at a carboot in the summer (will add any of the FB stuff that doesn't sell to this)
    Tat recycled or binned

We've found at the moment that we're holding on to more stuff to try and sell ourselves rather than donate to charity as we really need the money. I don't feel too bad about this as during our 4 years together OH and I have sent so many bags and boxes of stuff to various local charity shops, as well as a few things every now and then recently, plus we pop in whenever we can and buy a few bits. Give us a year and we'll be back to donating again :) Which will have the knock on effect of a clearer garage!

    April so far: 46/100
    Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

    Mortgage at [STRIKE]10/19 - £47,200[/STRIKE] 11/19 - £46,615

As they say cat, charity begins at home. The idea of charity is not to give if you can't afford it yourself. I get a bit cross with all the phone calls I get from people wanting money from me. Thankfully, our caller ID is working again so I don't answer the phone if the number is not a known one.
Have a pile of bubble wrap etc sitting on the table awaiting DH taking it to work.
Have started a new system with washing. If it's not in the wash basket (by the machine), it doesn't get done. I also now have a rejects pile. If it's not separated (DH tshirts and jumpers, DS pants and trousers) then it goes in the rejects pile. I am no longer stressing about stuff. I am going to assign one day per week where I get a black sack and collect stuff which is left out. I will then either sling it or sell it. If the owner wants it back, they can trade me some jobs for it! That includes DH. I got some picture frames 2 YEARS ago for my birthday. I wanted him to add some photos of the children and hang them for me. The biddy things are still in the cellophane. I will get this house straight eventually!
