I like to keep 1 year worth of bills and throw out one as I file one

I say 'I like' because I don't always stick to it!!!

thats what I aim to do too - but somehow it never quite works out that way!

Not done anything today yet - been at work then got home to cook for us and my DSs GF. Will try and do a cupboard in the kitchen as I clear up.

PenPen - good luck with your challenge - :T

I'd like to join the challenge please! I've made a start today on a toy cupboard and (secretly) got rid of two binbags full. I'm not sure how many items I could count, say 8? Lots of it was rubbish but there were some full items in there. I have a long way to go so I'm confident 100 items can go this month. i also have a bag of items to give to my sister but I guess I can't count them till they actually go?!
I have a lovely house (which fingers crossed we can keep) but I can't see lots of it for clutter. i see from reading the thread I'm not alone in feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to start, so DH & I have taken a tip from here and done 15 minute bursts today. I feel glad to have accomplished something, so that's the way to go. I have a job and we also run our own business from home as well as having two littlies so time is a bit short but I will feel so much better if the clutter is gone.

I've not done much yet. I have had a tidy round sorted out the post - straight into the recycling bin. Hoovered and called the boys down to remove some items from the livingroom. The wheelie bin has been emptied and the recycling collected. DH also went to the tip/recycling depot and got rid of some stuff - stll got some stuff to go that he missed. DD went back to uni today so will venture into her room when I am feeling brave. DS3 moves into the room until she comes home again. There will probably be loads to throw out.

Have a lovely evening, stay warm and dry - blowing a gale out there.

7! i've just used one of the nasty shower gels to clean the loo with and chucked the bottle out. The downside is that my bathroom now smells like a tarty handbag.

    Ho hum :rotfl:

OL...now I'm wondering what a tarty handbag might smell like!!!

You've reminded me though - I've got some body sprays in the bathroom belonging to my daughter that she passed on to me because she doesnt like the smell anymore. I need to do something with them!!!

Edited to add: Oohh oh a challenge! please may you add me - current score is 6 (a computer game, a shower quadrant, evil evil aduki beans (don't ask!), museli from 2006 (I know, I know), a knackered pair of sandals and a dead pot plant (OH was insisting it would grow back, I disagree and he's in Frankfurt :rotfl:).

muesli from 2006???????? lol where was it hiding? :D and someone else mentioned teabags from 2007!

I've got a dead pot plant too - it was a beautiful african violet that I'd had for 5 years. Moved it into the garage when we had the windows replaced recently and I think it got too cold :( Guess thats another thing for me to sort out! :o

We've just moved house (well, in June) and still haven't unpacked - because we moved ourselves in a rental car with no time to pack properly, everything just got chucked in boxes/bag and is in terrible disarray. We've moved into a renovation project and it's a total tip. We have completed the upstairs bedroom, the office and the bathroom (which needed gutting back to the brick and the joists it was that bad). When we moved in, we had no heating, no hot water, no bathroom and no kitchen.

So amongst the detritus of a million DiY projects, OH decides to plant things. The garden is buried under at least five tonnes of sub soil and building waste and he's planting things in yoghurt pots on the kitchen windowsill then watching them die.

The other plant I thought had shuffled off its mortal root system is sprounting again. That's the last thing I need, zombie house plants. They'll be dragging themselves out of the bin by their tendrils next hissing neeeeddsssss grains......

Oh, and it's a clematis. Indoors? Outside plant lives outside, except not at the moment because it's tangled up in a venetian blind that hasn't been moved for ten years as if to say "stuff living outside, it's warmer in here and you have cookies" But I have scissors and it won't win. :D

*and breathe* Kitchen design appointment on tuesday :D Will be much happier once the wreak has been dewreaked and I actually have an oven again. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

if we're 'fessing up to disgustingly old food stuffs, I made cheese straws last year with a pack of whoopsied puff pastry that had moved house with us twice. I dread to think how much time it had spent in the freezer :D

I've decluttered the toy cupboard today too Possession. It wasn't as bad as decluttering under Ds2's bed. I've taken every thing out, sorted in into keep, chuck, sell, donate. It's not finished yet i thought it would be a good idea to let him go to bed at some point. So far i've got 2 rubbish bags, 2 bags for the CS, a bag of recycling and a box of stuff to sell. Hopefully i'll get it finished tomorrow morning.

I ventured into DD's room and now have a carrier bag of rubbish. The wheelie bin will be full again soon if I carry on at this rate.
