  • Some more stuff reserved for decluttering - DDs old cot, mattress, sheets, duvet, duvet cover, blankets, sleeping bag, baby swing, 2 travel cots, pack of newborn nappies, door bouncer (and any other bits we find) to BiL and we get £100 towards our holiday fund account!

Jarus - Welcome to the thread. I find the way that works for me is to tackle small areas such as a kitchen drawer to get started, then build up to bigger tasks. I try and make sure clutter doesn't creep back in when I start on another room. I know I have certain 'hotspots' where clutter seems to breed, so if I must leave things on surfaces, I try and keep it to the hotspot areas and give them a quick blitz at least once a week.

    Thanks for that.
I actually made a small start today.

I had to go into the shed to look for some footplates we needed to find for my DS's kayak we were selling. i couldn't find the footplates, but the shed was in such a mess I ahd to take eveything out to look. The shed is now looking tidier and I have 23 round and 16 square plant pots in the boot of my car waiting to og to the dump tomorrow. Also did a couple of other bits so my list looks like this....
    1. 23 round and 16 square plant pots to the dump
    2 2 envelopes shredded
3 pair of socks & crop top that DD grown out of in Charity bag
4 Unused game (screwball scramble also in charity bag

Only small steps I know, but every little helps.

    Jarus xx

  • Sorry been a bit rubbish at updating, so here is my update for last week!

    2-6 Bags of recycling
7-8 Bags to the Charity Shop
9-10 Bags of cans to tesco
    11-23 Books/DVD's to Zapper

If I counted the stuff to the charity shop individually then would prob look a lot higher, but I just chuck it in bags as I sort without counting it! Sold a load on ebay last night but won't count that until it leaves the house!

Sorry to hear about your DH bossymoo. I hadn't realised that you had lost him so recently. Well done you for picking yourself up and carrying on with your life. It must be awfully hard getting rid of any of his stuff so well done for managing to get some bits gone.

Thanks I can't believe where the last three months have gone, life is like a fuzzy dream most days but I have my little babies to keep me going. Having things to focus on, like decluttering, keeps me occupied.
