Yay can announce I've completed my 100 woo!!! :j

Decided that instead of going to bed I would just have a quick look in the junk cupboard in the kitchen. After pulling everything out, cleaning it and throwing half of it away it looks fab! Dreading when OH gets up in the morning though and cant find his keys!! :D

97 - happy birthday candles that dont read happy birthday anymore
98 - a pumpkin carving kit which is carp
99 - Happy Birthday sign which looks really tatty now
100 - about 20 more random carp which I cant remember - empty match box for example - why the hell that was in there I dont know?!
  • I'm trying to have a productive day off. Been into town to get some mould and mildew remover to do all our windows, declutter the mould ha. Just eating lunch/breakfast then to finish sorting stuff for the tip. Got an old tv to add to it and loads more stuff, we have millions of old broken shoes umbrellas etc under the stairs for the tip. Should get a move on really! Lots of ebay items ending today, about 50 I think. Eeek

    Was at 55

Today I have sorted the boot of the car and ditched:
An old bottle, half full with goodness knows what - bin
    Two cardboard boxes - recycling

(I was going to hoover but wind and rain put me off so I have just cleared it. i have three connecting fabric boxes in there, one is for me to put stuff for charity shop, one is to stop the picnic blanket rolling around, and one is for my emergency kit, which is spare nappies, vests, wipes, cups etc as i'm known for leaving the house with a toddler under each arm but no bag...)

Have also binned the pepper grinder, tried to fix but couldn't manage. Nabbed all the peppercorns out first though, to go in a new one...

    2 more bits to recycling
2 more kiddy items in CS bag

63/100 for me. Am desperate to get rid of the baby carseat. Has anyone successully sold one of these? It's in perfect condition, with a click base, but tried three times to sell and no takers. I don't really want much. A tenner would be lovely. They are £90 new without the base. But I think most people want brand new ones...

    Away with the fairies
  • I'm spending the afternoon on eBay. Another huge lot of stuff to list and relist. No idea where it all comes from! It lives under my bed until it is sold though. Loads have sold today yay.

Feels great for all that stuff gone, it was at least 200 items so that's the last 2 months targets! I took about 30 pairs of my mums shoes to the tip so will be expecting an ear bashing later about that but they had 4 years of dust on them so they weren't going anywhere near her feet anytime soon!

My windows look awesome! I am definitely in spring clean mode!
  • Major breakthrough for me!

I put a necklace on this morning but decided I didn't like it anymore. Previously, I would have just put it back but today I put it into the charity shop bag! I realised that if I don't like it anymore it doesn't deserve to take up space in my home.

I may only have one thing to declare but I'm thrilled! :j

    Total: 143/100

So after posting some things today and yesterday, I have managed to get rid of 24 items including packaging and items sent. I'm quite pleased. I will have another few things to post as soon as payment is received. Hopefully that's tomorrow.
    Lots more to re-list too.
    February totals: 167/100
    Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.
    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.
  • I have 5 ebay items posted, 1 bag of clothes recycled, 1 box of 5 rusting saucepans to recycling centre.
Also cleaned out understairs cupboard, was very brave and hoovered cobwebs eewww.
Hoovered and cleared out my car (very quickly as the wind was shaking the car so much!)

I am having problems with getting onto freecycle aswell, I have been through 3 stages of signing up and still not in. I don't understand the format either, you register for the frecycle site but then you have to be in a yahoo group? It doesn't seem very simple to me :(

Also any ideas how I can get rid of a perfectly functioning car headlamp? Scrapyard is not interested for some reason. A while ago I needed new lights so bought 1 from a scrapyard, turns out it was the wrong type for my car, so I have bought the right ones and had them fitted, now I am stuck with this spare one! Its massive aswell.
I was considering ebay, but postage would be massive and I'd rather get rid of it somewhere else.

When I've had to post large items, I've gone via a courier. I think I used https://www.p4d.co.uk who were quite reasonable. Have a look at what other people charge for their similar items.
It's got to be worth it surely :)

  • I did get an ear bashing about the shoes and she thinks I've thrown her favorite pair away, doh. I don't think I have as they all had so much dust on them and were filthy! But I can't win. I am trying to explain that without the extra clutter the house will be easier to clean, which is the biggest problem we have, it is so filthy but feel like I'm getting nowhere lol. Anyone else have a family member who is your decluttering nemesis?

oh I hope you haven't! OH did that, threw away random carrier bags and one contained his mum's shoes - you might ask why she kept them in a carrier bag of course but let's not go there - anyway he ended up having to buy new shoes for her :rotfl:
