6 - 7. Book and magazine read, and passed onto Mum.
    8. Small pile of brochures, leaflets and junk mail into recycling.
    9. Old paperwork into recycling (or to burn pile for confidential stuff. I condensed remaining paperwork into one box, instead of two.)
    10. Cracked glass, wrapped and binned.
    11. Several dried up pens binned (sorting through my pencil case was more interesting than studying earlier!)

One Ebay item will sell tomorrow, hoping for a few last minute bids. I also have a box and polystyrene to get rid of, from a survey test product.

I spent several hours today trying to sort out the files on my computer. There was stuff to be sorted from two computers ago, 95% of it was not important, so got deleted! I still have the mega task of sorting out and renaming all of the family/holiday photos and backing everything up. I also need to get started with converting the CD singles into digital format, so I can get rid of most of them.

Into the house this week is two huge pictures and a magazine. The pictures have been stored at OH Mum's house for ages. Thinking of selling my picture although I really like it, I live in a cottage with low ceilings and it is just too big! The other picture is wrecked as the glass got broken, which scratched the picture. However this one is OH's picture, so I don't hold out much hope he will let me get rid of it.

I watched 'May the best house win' on TV earlier and one guy had such a cluttered house, every surface was covered! It made me feel quite constricted/claustrophobic, so it has encouraged me to crack on with decluttering!

Jarus - Welcome to the thread. I find the way that works for me is to tackle small areas such as a kitchen drawer to get started, then build up to bigger tasks. I try and make sure clutter doesn't creep back in when I start on another room. I know I have certain 'hotspots' where clutter seems to breed, so if I must leave things on surfaces, I try and keep it to the hotspot areas and give them a quick blitz at least once a week.

I forgot about 3 eBay parcels on Friday that I posted, I have just put 2 brand new pontins tops in the charity bag too so that brings me to 70 :j think I may manage the 100 this month now :)
  • I think I might list the rest of the stuff I have to sell today. There is a lot left, think I'll sell it in job lots as probably more likely to sell.
  • Scratch that! I'm feeling a billion times better so me and OH are gonna go for a stroll along the seaside and some fish and chips. I can do ebay anytime! Going to arrange a lift to the Charity Shop and the Tip for next Wednesday so will be in hyper mode the next few days to get a car full.

Shall we count backwards next month? Start at 100 and work down?

I need a better system than trying to find my last post to see where I am but I think I've got 45 to go, and there,s 10 days left.

You can put the amount you are up to in your signature (this is how I keep track) or write items in a notebook as they leave the house?
  • Just found three pairs of glasses that can go to specsavers for recycling, recycled two bottles from the bathroom and found some make up, still in packaging, that was a freebie a few years ago, that can go to the charity shop.
  • Ooh I love this thread! Over the past week I have started the great declutter and finding this thread is wonderful! I was thinking of setting myself a mini challenge to declutter say 3 things a day. I have stockpiled a huge amount to take to a car boot as I have never sold anything on ebay and wondered if it was worth doing compared to a car boot.

Look forward to getting to know you all!
