Well, I think that is it for this weekend (tomorrow is the beginning of son's kart season so spending hopefully a not snowy day freezing at the local track). Why do I think it is a waste of a day when I could be decluttering :D

Didn't get rid of much today but on the plus side, my bedroom is twice as big now I have taken our large Ikea bed down and put son's double bed in. Son is looking forward to sleeping on the floor for a week but not so happy when I said I would not put his snooker table up!

11 – 1 Wrapped Christmas present (from several years ago) clock (CS)
12 – 6 old bras that were stuffed under the bed (bin)
13 – skirt (garage for rags)
14 – old beach shoes (bin)
15 – cheap plastic magazine holders (bin)
16 – 1 mattress protector melted in the tumble drier (bin)
17 – part of a broken Xbox headset (bin)

I lost my job through a neurolgoical condition that has seen me spend 7 weeks in hospital (give or take a couple of days day realise) since the 13th December. I am waiting for the phone calll to cofirm the date of a brain op that involves putting in a shunt and connecting it to my stomach to drain excess fluid! I have lot most the vision in my right eye so sorry if I misread anything or mistype! Sorry for rambling.

Anyway since losing my job and becoming poor I have been sorting through a lot of things so far.

    - 3 pairs of shoes for chairty
    - 3 pairs of shoes for the bin.
-waiting to see if my nintendo ds lite sells on buy and sell.
-Pair of jeans that are now to big :T binned.
-Work t shirts , bagged up give back to ex-boss.
    - carboard box broken and recycled.
    - pile of magazines in a carrier ready to take to my aunties as she reads them after me :)

Still have to sort through gadgets/dvds/books! x

I am also moving from a double sized bedroom to a smal box room and I have way to much stuff x

I am off to see 'Martha Marcy' this morning then I'll have a go at catching up on decluttering later./QUOTE]

Please, What's 'Martha Marcy'? Never heard of this before, but then I've lead a sheltered life. Oooh - just googled it - it's a film. I really should get out more!!!!!

Sorry to hear of your problems, Junior. Hope they sort you out.

Had a good day today. Flung out a bundle of old newsletters and redundant papers now I've written up minutes of a meeting. Also sorted various craft items to their rightful place rather than spread out everywhere. In the process I came across over £15, so was pleased with that.

Spent some time working on curtains for the bedroom our grandson uses when they come to stay. Not decluttering, but part of sorting out the house.

  • Just small things today. Sorted out my sewing box so that it actually closes now, and managed to fit some other bits and bobs in it that had previously been in the "shove everything in it " drawer in the kitchen. Also got rid of a pile of takeaway leaflets, put three band t shirts up for sale on the band's official site (hopefully someone will want them) and discovered a big tin of chocolate biscuits that I never realised we had! Emergency chocolate is always good.

I am going to join this thread. Will catch up on older posts later - mainly because I cant find my glasses and I am squinting at the screen and keyboard - I am new to this whole wearing specs thing!

I have a a huge amount of stuff to declutter - just really came home today as we had to empty some large storage areas and cupboards to lay cabling for solar panels that are being fitted - our storage is very clever I have discovered allowing us ( mainly me ) to squirrel away a ridiculous amount of detritus : :)

Will report back once I have caught up on thread!
