Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

  • Morning all.

It's been a slow week here with the decluttering what with work and having the new bathroom fitted but I have managed a few bits and I am planning to crack on over the weekend.

My eBay sales are going well, 21 with bids on and another 11 with watchers so if they all sell that will boost my total!

I spent yesterday going through a hugh pile of recipes torn from magazines and only kept the ones that I would actually cook/eat! Then tidied up undies drawer to make it easier to find a pair of black work socks in the dark!

    Ditch 100 in February

    1. Bag of old magazine recipes to recycling.
    2. Old shower curtain
    3. Old toilet brush
    4. Bag of old undies and threadbare socks.

Well best crack on, need to take DS to my mums so we can have a shower!
  • I am off to see 'Martha Marcy' this morning then I'll have a go at catching up on decluttering later. An ebay seller has asked to return 2 bracelets that don't fit (?) or she'll leave neg feedback. Tempted to just take a hit on the feedback but I've asked ebay where I stand before I decide what to do. So that would reintroduce 2 clutter items to the house and just keep me out of minus figures for this m0nth!!!!

As I have a stall at a vintage fair today, I am hoping to declutter for money. 3 32 litre underbed boxes and 4 19 litre Really Useful Boxes are waiting in the hallway for transport to arrive in 50 minutes...

As we have frost and no snow at the moment, let's hope people are out and about in Kings Heath!

  • Ditch 100 in February 10/100

Right ready to go for February. I am sure there is much more than 100 more things in my house to declutter.

Am making a start on the bedrooms today - have to get rid of our oversize kingsize bed (a rash purchase from Ikea and then found it didn't fit into the space in the bedroom so for 3 years have had to squeeze past it to get round the bedroom.). Move son's double into ours then he can sleep on the floor (on a matress :D ) until Friday when the new single bed comes. Hopefully all of this will make the house look bigger when the Estate agent comes out.

Have had our first offer on a bungalow turned down partly due to ours not being on the market yet so a bit of an incentive.

    So far this month

1 – old vase (charity shop)
    2 – 2 x candle lanterns (Charity shop)
3 – unwanted new washbag (charity shop)
4 – magazine computer CDs (bin)
5 - another folder of son’s schoolwork (recycle bin)
6 – box for the central heating controller (recycle bin)
7 – box for antivirus software (recycle bin)
8 – various leaflets (recycle bin)
9 – unused little model kit (charity shop)
10 – hairbrush set (unwanted prize) (charity shop)

14 Jeans to Ragbag were in ebay pile but have noticed a stain whilst listing them
15 pile of papers burned on fire (quicker than shredding!!)
    16 broken toy piece binned
    17 broken lighter binned
18 packaging thrown out from various xmas pressies that hubby has put up in kids rooms this morning (clock/mobile/wall hanging bits)

I've sorted some more for the tip but will add those when DH takes them.
I have also uncovered 3 more ebay items which I have listed straight away rather than adding them to the big to-do pile.
I have gone through all ebay listing that weren't selling and changed them to 99p. I will relist them until the end of the month then CS any that are still here. I am sick of having a big pile that isn't selling. I have lots of new stuff to list that probably sell better anyway. Also have spring/summer stuff to strat listing next month so need to make room.

I will finish boxing up my DVDs from musicmagpie today and also make up the parcel to send to my sister for her birthday so that will be a few more to leave the house Monday.

So scratch that I won't be opening the cupboard of doom. I will try and find homes for the contents of the piles. I think this part of the problem I don't have homes for things.

  • Have just dropped off some books to the charity shop. Has anyone else noticed that zapper doesnt take many books? It would be nice to earn a bit of cash from this decluttering :( but now I am only down to 10 books!! Really happy with that since I used to have well over 200 a year ago!

    Ditch 100 in February 33/100

If I keep going at this rate I will have my 100 in no time!

Was it private selling and auction? What a stupid woman, tell her to return them to you. She'll have to send them trackable at her own cost then you get to keep your feedback rating and resell?
