Ive got a pile to the left of me that make me smile and a pile on the floor that i can do without. I'll plod on.

My mother has kept all the cards and letters I have ever given her - I'm 43 now!!

Just been lurking and this thread has given me the motivation to have a de-clutter this weekend. Might as well, it's going to be cold and it's the final weekend before payday after what feels like an extremely long month! Might even find some more bits to sell too :D

3 lots of facebook sales gone today (10 items altogether)
Had that sort through and tidy of DD2's drawer and found 4 tops to sell and 1 to recycle as stained (it was a favourite!)

Judi & Rosyq - I got divorced in 2009 after almost 10 years of marriage, and as the ex managed to draw the process out over 18 months I have a reasonable amount of paperwork. I managed to chuck a few bits so now have 2 slim ring binders (some of this includes the papers from the sale of the family home) and I don't think I could get rid of all of it. Mainly because I like to remind myself what a lucky escape I had and what a silly billy (the filter didn't like my word for a bottom lol) he is - the 1st letter I had from his solicitor makes an interesting yet fictional read :) Maybe one day I can let it go...

Cat04. 10 years of marriage is a long time to spend with someone. I had been married for almost 6 years.

Your probably right in keeping all the paperwork, its just for me, time to get rid of the reminders (the kids can stay though ;-) ).

It was a long time especially as I was only 18 when we got married , although it's like a distant dream these days. I have a lovely OH who is the complete opposite of the ex, except maybe on the hoarding front, although nowhere near as bad :) The kids are definitely keepers, as well as all their letters, cards and pictures!
I think the divorce paperwork can go when I'm a bit older!
