Wow! A real marker on the journey, Happy and although I very much doubt you shared the news of your achievement with your visitor, you had every reason and right to celebrate with a sneaky bottle. Congratulations on reaching the magic figure and long may the trend continue.

I'm not worried about my Good Intentions this weekend as I'm having a lovely time. Going by the amount of whitebait, pizza and tiramsu I scoffed last night, weighing myself wouldn't be a particularly good idea and shockingly there are no scales in this establishment. Shame, huh? Back on track(ish) Tuesday(ish) with a new eating plan, worked out to shift the blubber. And I really must do so Flying; even I could see the grub and gunge and I rarely can.

And I am actually by the seaside, which I can see from the hotel window- fabulous view - so  Seaside Girl! There are no waves though, it's flat calm, very sunny and extremely hot. Just as well I packed a couple of summer dresses and some sandals along with the heavy duty jeans, thick cardigan, jacket and shoes.
    Better is good enough.
  • Hi BalanceBy50  - Have you managed to set your targets yet?

I have at last! I would love to join in and post some on here if that's ok Happy?? Is it ok to join the class of Serious September? As
  • Hi all

Sorry for going AWOL for the whole week, I just didn't have the time to get on here. There was a lot to catch up on and I can't comment on it all but I will say...

HappyNow - Well done on getting your total debt below £50k.

    milann - Welcome.

Honey Bear - Hope you had a lovely weekend.

I have had a lovely week off but now I have that horrible Monday morning feeling when you realise you have to get back on it and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed today and fighting the urge to go and get back in bed and crawl under the duvet. I know the feeling will pass in a couple of days though.

    So, back to the targets...

    1) To have at least 15 NCDs - I managed 2 additional NCDs last week so I am now on 4 NCDs. I'm going to have to be strong from now on to make my target for the month.

    2) To meal plan at the end of the week for the following week - I have meal planned up to and including Friday and I have ordered a Tesco delivery for today. I'll look in the freezer to see what's available for the weekend.

    3) Be in bed by 10.00pm and light out by 10.30pm Sunday to Thursday - This has been a total disaster for the last week. The nights have been getting later and the mornings have too. This one is key to me getting back in the swing of it and stopping me feeling overwhelmed.

    4) At least 30 minutes walking during the day - This has been easy for the last week with no other distractions but I'm going to have to make an effort again now.

Ah, Honey, I've just worked out where you probably are. Ooh, maybe I actually saw you on the telly. Wouldn't that be funny! Not that I'd recognise you even if I did, of course, but still....
I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this, but whitebait is HORRIBLE. Total agreement with loads of pizza though, that's probably my favourite meal of all time. If I should ever have the misfortune to end up on death row (probably sent there via debtors prison :D )I would choose pizza as my final meal. Tiramisu is just so variable depending on where it's from but it sounds like you scored a good 'un.

Hi BB, I had noticed you'd wandered off and OF COURSE you should join the class. In fact you'll probably make head girl the way most of us are carrying on :D

Looking forward to hearing your targets and hopefully inspiring me to crack on with my own!

Good to see you back Dolphin. The sign of a good week's holiday is how hard you find it to get back into the swing of things, so that's all to the good. And your targets are exactly the right ones to get you motivated for general life. If you can't manage all four of them, at least try to focus on the walking and the bed-times because they are such life-changers.

And again I've got to dash off. I haven't even had time to record my own targets over the last couple of days, but I'll be back soon.

Quick wave to Elnora and SSG who are shining examples to us all right now!

  • SERIOUS SEPTEMBER - DAY 11-12

    · 1,500 cals three days in work week, 500 cals on two and lighten up a bit at weekend! – Went over the 1,500 mark but it was the weekend! I had a Green & Blacks chocolate bar - my first chocolate since I started the diet apart from two little chocs in work during the week. It tasted soooo good! But I'm not worrying - I enjoyed it and at least I haven't bought any cakes or biscuits.

. Walking at least 30 mins per day, plus the leg exercises that Elnora has given me - All covered here!

    · . Drink six glasses of water per day – OK on Saturday - failed yesterday.

    · Go to bed at a sensible time during the work week – Saturday night didn't count, but I wasn't very good last night so a fail here.

. Eating down from the freezer - Liver, bacon and onions were really nice. I've got some chicken thighs to use up for next weekend - I think I'll do a traybake.

  • Happy - Congrats on getting the debt down below £50,000!:j Re. the wine consumed - do you mean that you only drank half a bottle from a total of two bottles, or consumed a total of one bottle out of two?!! :D Poor old excluded Happy Dog! But Donkey and Happy are both big dogs so you're quite right to exclude Happy if there is traffic and he is naughty around the other dog. I keep meaning to ask (and forgive me if I've missed something you've previously posted), but do you still have Happy Horse?

Honey - pleased to hear you're enjoying yourself (must say I do like whitebait - thought haven't had it for years!). Like Happy, I think I might have deduced where you are. If I'm right then in order to wave to me, your telescope must point south, then twist around to point east and then again to point north! I think...................:D Back on the treadmill on Tuesday!

Dolphin - nice to see you back and good luck with your goals this week. I'm sure you'll get into the swing of things.

BB5 - looking forward to reading about those targets!:)

Hi SSG - Well done with your targets, you're on fire!

Yes, I only drank half of one bottle from the total of two bottles. There were four of us and I can just imagine the faces on the other three if they had to share a bottle while I necked a full one! :rotfl:

Sadly Happy Horse had to be put to sleep in 2017. It was one of the worst days of my life, but a kindness to him. He'd been lame on and off for three years, and towards the end there were a lot more bad days than good.

You could choose multi-quote practice as one of your targets :D

I just had to scroll back to remind myself what my targets even were! Anyway, for what it's worth.

Back to 1400 calories daily, to include 5 x F & V. Fail, every day for the last three days. I've managed the 5 x F & V but I've no idea how many calories.
Six glasses of water daily to rinse away all that fat and sugar. Probably 2-3 max. Oops.
One bottle of wine per week, and the wine-week starts Fridays Surprisingly this is going very well. I'm pretty confident with it.
At least seven hours in bed each night. It's varying, but I'm typing this at 1:15 so tonight's not looking great.
Stop pretending I've forgotten the Level 1 flying. Not good up until tonight, but then some of Mr H's former work friends have said they're coming for a visit tomorrow morning so we've had a mad fly round tonight and it's looking OK.
No non-essential spending Had to buy cake and biscuits ready for tomorrow's visitors but otherwise OK.

  • HappyNow - I'm with you on the Whitebait, it's vile. I'm also with you on the pizza, I would happily eat it every day if I could even if I have to suffer a gluten free base.

SSG - Well done for consistently sticking with your targets. You are doing excellent!

BB50 - How are your targets coming along?
