To be fair, I can't have them anyway, they 'may contain wheat'.

What a bu*m*r for you. By the way, thank you so much for last year's advice on going gluten-free. I'm back eating some homemade bread, nowhere near as much as I used to though, and mostly sticking to a sort of low GI eating plan during the day. It's sorted the problem out completely, but I'm very glad I gave the GF thing such a good try. I don't envy anyone who has to stick to it rigidly because it's very, very restrictive, isn't it.
Five fruit and veg a day: Beetroot juice, sultanas, massive heap of veggie curry which I'm hoping had all the rest in. It's been in the freezer for at least a month, so I've forgotten what went in it, but onion, courgette, sweet potato, carrots for starters.
Lights out by 11.30pm Tick. Marvellous night's sleep at last. I think I drank too much decaff coffee the other day. It's had the same effect once before and I forget.
Make 100 sales cold calls by 31.1.17. Very short list still being compiled. I am finding myself very sluggish over this.
One random act of kindness or public service a day Nuffink.
Record something lovely that happens every day so that at the end of the year when I empty the jar I'll remember all the good things that happened OH again - made me porridge especially early so that I wouldn't have to make it myself before I took Kelpie for his hydrotherapy. My life is very unbalanced. I need to be getting some of my Lovely Things from other sources.
After 7th January cut out sugar until 1st February. Zilch. Slightly tempted completely resisted and it shows on the scales. Whoop whoop!
We're off to Barcelona for a week next month with some friends for OH's 70th birthday celebration. I'd like to be somewhere near my ideal target weight by then so that I can indulge myself and not feel like a hippo by the end of the week. I'm wondering if I can keep the motivation going ....

Waah, first fail of the month on daily posting yesterday. Not my fault, I was asleep! I spent the day on a work course ('preparing for retirement' - bit soon but I grabbed the chance because it included a very useful section on pension planning) and then came home, ate, sat down to watch Paranoid on TV and next thing I knew it was 3am. Anyway, to the best of my memory...
- Money No spends although Mr H bought £30 petrol
- Healthy eating Didn't get my 5 x F & V. Lunch was provided on the course and it was dire. No salady stuff whatsoever, so by the time I got home at 5pm I'd had zero F & V. Tea was veggie chilli and a glass of orange juice, so just the two. Sweet treats - a chocolate !clair on the course and five squares of chocolate at home. The chocolate sounds very disciplined, but it was all we had.

Despite their cheery smiley faces, it seems jelly babies are evil little monsters - 'may contain wheat', 'definitely contain gelatine' (I'm a veggie), and that's all before you even look at the nutritional information on the back. Very happy that cutting back on gluten has helped you but yes, it does make things rather restrictive and rather expensive too. I have been buying gluten free bread as it's nicer than the stuff that I can get on the NHS but I'm having to make cutbacks so I'm going back to getting bread on the NHS at least while I can because they would love to get rid of gluten-free prescribing.Despite their cheery smiley faces, it seems jelly babies are evil little monsters - 'may contain wheat', 'definitely contain gelatine' (I'm a veggie), and that's all before you even look at the nutritional information on the back. Oh yes, I forgot about the gelatine, (I was veggie for 23 years, from age 13 to age 36), I'm glad I no longer have to worry about that too.0 -
Jelly Babies - my lovely mum adores them and has to eat two together back to back for maximum enjoyment, ideally black and orange. I like about 4 and then find them too sweet but I do like the texture very much.
My weight is still going steadily down, stress is the culprit so it's not particularly healthy weight loss but I am eating quite well just not as much or as frequently as I should probably. Can't be helped - some people stress eat and some of us can't face it. It'll get better as the problem get's solved - I'm trying positive thinking.
Love the Apple and Ginger Juice - I bought some before Christmas and I particularly enjoy it heated. I used to buy Apple and Cinnamon Juice from Ringden Farms at farmers markets, pricey but delicious and one of the best ways to feel better from a cold or getting chilled. I now make a version at home with apple juice, a stick of cinnamon, some peeled ginger and lemon juice - it's good but not as good.
Happy - why are buffet lunches so dispiriting on courses? I went to one last week and everything was brown or beige - drumsticks, soggy onion bhajis, brown quiche, dismal sandwiches with dry egg filling or some kind of cheese mayo concoction. I ate a plate of salad garnish and the filling out of a slice of soggy quiche as they seemed like the nicest options.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

(For those that are getting sniffy about food choices, it's the same price as Tropicana from Tosca.) I'm a Tosco Value Fresh Orange gal myself. Lovely, not too sweet and 65p per litre. Might splash out on the posh stuff next time we have a special occasion though.
Lights out by 11.30pm Tick. Didn't do me much good, I was mostly awake from 2.30ish to 4.30ish. Thank goodness for my ipod. Nights like that are just horrible, as are the next days. I'm pleased last night was better.
After 7th January cut out sugar until 1st February. Zilch. Not even remotely tempted. And if your OH wrote a Lovely Things list, I daresay you would feature heavily on his too - like yesterday, when you put the Christmas decs away. I suspect it's all quite balanced

Black first, then red, then green, sometimes I let Mr H have the orange and yellow.

Yesterday's didn't even stretch that far. It was just cheese or egg sandwiches in cheap sliced bread, crisps, and chocolate eclairs. Like lots of other services we need to make cuts and I understand the need to economise, but I'm sure lettuce is as cheap as crisps, and fruit as cheap as cream buns. Not that I'm complaining really, it was free, but stodge like that during a boring afternoon - they were just asking for us to nod off!LBM Dec 2011. Healthy eating Hmm, 1710 calories today, but if I hadn't been trying it would have been much more. F & V - a banana, tomatoes, orange juice, more tomatoes. Most of the 1700 calories came from a Frys Chocolate Cream, 3 chocolate digestives and a large glass of wine
Admin & catch-up A couple of chase-up phone calls to get the last dribs and drabs of our neighbour's estate finalised.
Contact with parents Yes, rang my mum. Visited Mr H's mum who is now out of hospital but isn't well at all....

Because they're flavoured sugar, in other words Pure Evil. I'm sure some student somewhere has made an art film where they come to life.Waah, first fail of the month on daily posting yesterday. You must have been concentrating very hard on what you were being taught.- Money No spends although Mr H bought £30 petrol No doubt necessary.

There is no excuse for putting out such a brown drab buffet, really. Three bean salad doesn't cost much.
