    Hi, Happy :hello:
Hope you had a good birthday and sorry to hear about Mr H's mum, wishing her a speedy recovery
I maybe should include one about posting more often, but for now:
Stick to skincare routine- remove all makeup and use those moisturisers 15/15
    Daily yoga practice 14/15
    Daily mindfullness session 15/15
Post 1 happy photo to instagram each day 14/15
    Take vitamins daily 15/15
Thanks FF, I did have a good birthday and Mrs H's mum is comfortable if not really recovering yet.
Excellent targets, good luck with them and I hope you will report back lots of success to spur me on because I'm not doing that great right now :D

    • Five fruit and veg a day: Grapefruit juice, tomatoes .... Ah good, not just me then
    • Lights out by 11.30pm Tick. I'd like to think I can cope without sticking to this on Fridays and Saturdays but it doesn't work for me.
    • Make 100 sales cold calls by 31.1.17. Saturday and Sunday shouldn't count, should they? Well cold calls/emails/texts are work, so I think it's fine to take weekends off - if you phoned, no-one would even be there to answer. Tomorrow is a new day
    • One random act of kindness or public service a day Since I had my lightbulb moment about 10 days ago about this I've been researching my chosen activity and OH and I have made some progress together. Intriguing. Is it secret or can you share?
    • Record something lovely that happens every day so that at the end of the year when I empty the jar I'll remember all the good things that happened It's a surprise to me that I'm struggling with this. I either don't think about things in the right way, or I lead a dismal life with nothing lovely happening. It doesn't feel like the latter, so it must be the former. It's proving to be quite a 'think and ponder' exercise. I think most people's lives are probably the same. Not that many lovely things happening, but hopefully not that many horrible things either. When I did a 'daily fun thing' target a while ago I found the same. Maybe we need to MAKE things happen? Looking forward to your 'think and ponder' outcome....
    • After 7th January cut out sugar until 1st February. A 40g bar of chocolate, and a handful of jellybabies. I don't like using the word addict but the cravings are defo there. Having managed a week without sugar once a while back I'm not sure why it's so hard now. It seems to be a common theme right now - Dolphin has said the same. Are we all coming down from a Christmas sugar-high?

    Today's efforts:
Money: The electrician called and it was not good news. It only cost £40 today but he has to come back. We have a broken underground wire and it could be anywhere in a 50 yard run. We'll never find it so have to dig a channel and re-lay wires. We will do the digging to keep the cost down, then call him back to do the fancy bits. No other spends.
Healthy eating: I am SO back on this tomorrow. Today I had a small side salad, a glass of orange juice and more jalapenos and olives (yep, the leftover pizza). Sweet treats were 100g Galaxy and a crème egg. And rhubarb crumble
Admin and catch-up admin: Prepared and sent Mr H's invoices for work done last week.
Contact with parents Not today but I will ring tomorrow. Visited Mr H's mum in hospital.
Keep house tidy: Vacuuming and tidying made the hovel quite respectable in honour of the electrician's visit. I was quite disappointed that he didn't go in every room!

I need to do something Dolphin or the whole thing will collapse. Just a bit of order goes a long way. Welcome back FlacosFloozie!

Really? Right,I will email them then. I often put off ringing people and I'm not sure why - I'm not THAT shy.

I don't know either because I'm not that shy either, and until a couple of years ago I used to put off making any and all phone calls and then suddenly it was okay. Mostly I just pick up the phone now but effectively what I'm doing is cold call sales calls and anyone who likes making them can make a fortune as a salesperson. I'm defo not one of those.

Edit - ooh look, we can't say aass

No, but we can say arris, which is why I do.

Admin and catch-up admin: Prepared and sent Mr H's invoices for work done last week. *kerching* Probably the most important thing you could have done, too.
Contact with parents Not today but I will ring tomorrow. Visited Mr H's mum in hospital. You'd worry them if you rung every day, so that's probably a good thing. Good to know Mr H's mum is comfortable.

Five fruit and veg a day: Apple and ginger juice, onions, broccoli, carrots, pears
Lights out by 11.30pm Almost a tick. I seem to need a lot of sleep at the moment so I do wish I could stick to the 11.30 thing.
Make 100 sales cold calls by 31.1.17. I did a quick check of something this morning and 100 calls isn't a good idea as it turns out. Even 50 successful ones would be a bit of a problem so I'm going to make it 20 that research has shown would be more likely to be successful.
One random act of kindness or public service a day Sorry, I'm not going to divulge this one other than to say it has something to do with food
Record something lovely that happens every day so that at the end of the year when I empty the jar I'll remember all the good things that happened The upshot of the think and ponder is that I'm discounting small acts of kindness that other people do for me. It's made me much more aware of how much goodwill I've come to expect from people which is not okay.
After 7th January cut out sugar until 1st February. A 40g bar of chocolate, and a handful of jellybabies again. I weigh myself every Monday morning and I've put on FOUR POUNDS. In a week! Admittedly I have been sat on my arris doing research but that's absolutely outrageous. So, I think I've found my motivation. (I've hidden the jelly babies.)

    Better is good enough.

It's made me much more aware of how much goodwill I've come to expect from people which is not okay. And yet surely small acts of kindness are as rewarding for the other person to give as they are for you to receive? You know, the whole 'no such thing as a selfless act' thing? And I suspect you don't really 'expect' goodwill from other people, you just attract it by being a good person - and, of course, by giving out goodwill yourself.

Today I have done a little better. ,
    • Money Spent £1 on my O2 Priority Moment lunch
    • Healthy Eating Today I failed the 'fitting into my non-stretchy work trousers' test and it made me realise things have GOT to change. So - breakfast was porridge, lunch (the £1 one) was a hummus, falafel and salad wrap, a carton of fresh mango and a bottle of Coke Zero. Snack was two chocolate digestives, tea was veggie curry with bread, a teeny portion of rhubarb crumble and custard (couldn't throw it away now, could I) and a glass or fresh orange. Small glass of wine. Late night snack was a small brioche roll. Not great, but much better than I've been doing of late.
    • Admin One letter arrived needing attention and I did it straight away. Yeahhh.
    • Parents Nope, forgot all about them :D
    • Keep house tidy Nope, been too busy working then watching telly
Dolphin - if you happen to pass through, I have good Fitbit news! I got Mr H to take a look at it. He blew some compressed air around it's charging parts and it works now. It must have just got filled in with sweat and crumbs and other crap. So it is on my wrist again now and tomorrow we're back in business!

    Impressive, Mr H.

Five fruit and veg a day: Apple and ginger juice, sultanas, a few blueberries, tomato, mange tout, mixed bean salad, tangerines. Most of it was fruit, but it's better so I'm letting myself off the hook. And yes, apple and ginger juice is a thing, it's made by Cawston's and it's near the beetroot juice in Morribunds.
    Lights out by 11.30pm Tick.
Make 100 sales cold calls by 31.1.17. I'm narrowing down my very long list to the few I think where the cards would fit their current stock. That means they either have a f'book page or a website, which excludes the vast majority, but targetting the inital calls would save a lot of heartache on my part anyway. Samples are already on sale in one shop that I messaged last week, so that's one success story so far.
One random act of kindness or public service a day My jellybabies are not part of this equation, sorry Dolphin.
Record something lovely that happens every day so that at the end of the year when I empty the jar I'll remember all the good things that happened If one's OH makes dinner, breakfast, does the shopping and then makes lunch, I think that counts, don't you? Yes, he's doing it because he wants to choose scrumptious things to eat, but it was lovely being on the receiving end of it. And he brought me tea in bed two days in a row, and mended my office chair. It's too easy for me to take what he does for granted.
After 7th January cut out sugar until 1st February. Nothing. Amazing how easy it is when you realise that things are totally out of control. Weighed myself this morning and I'm exactly the same, despite scoffing for England. I'll let myself do that for a few days before I reign it back in, I think. I don't do deprivation.
    Better is good enough.

After 'trouser-gate' yesterday I definitely had the incentive to get my arris into gear today, food wise. Helped massively by my Fitbit which I've fallen in love with all over again.
    • Money Spent £8.35 in Tesco but it was all serious stuff and nothing sweet. YNAB balanced.
    • Healthy eating Porridge, a Satsuma (bit dry, no idea how old it was, found it in the car), a banana, veggie chilli with wholemeal bread, quiche, potatoes, mixed frozen veg, tomatoes. Sweet treat was just one chocolate digestive. One glass of wine. 1490 calories total. YESSSS
    • Admin & catch up admin Not managed this one.....
    • Contact with parents Yep, rang my mum and she is fine
    • Keep house tidy Laundry done.
I've used my Fitbit today after being without it for ages and it makes a huge difference. It's like it infuses me with common sense. I've walked 10,500 steps and I've even drunk three glasses of water! Tomorrow I'm on a work course and lunch is provided, so I hope I can keep it sensible. On the plus side, it's a non-uniform day so I can wear stretchy trousers!

It's interesting, isn't it, that we can go from zero motivation to 100% task-orientated in a nano-second when confronted by something only we know is the last straw. Huge turnaround, though, positively mega.

Five fruit and veg a day: Apple and ginger juice, sultanas, peas, tomato, apple and ginger juice. (For those that are getting sniffy about food choices, it's the same price as Tropicana from Tosca.)
Lights out by 11.30pm Tick. Didn't do me much good, I was mostly awake from 2.30ish to 4.30ish. Thank goodness for my ipod.
Make 100 sales cold calls by 31.1.17. Very short list being compiled.
One random act of kindness or public service a day I'm doing you today's kindness, Dolphin. Have you seen the nutritional information on the back of the packets? Wow. No wonder I put on 4lbs. See what I saved you?
Record something lovely that happens every day so that at the end of the year when I empty the jar I'll remember all the good things that happened And yesterday he went and got Kelpie from the groomers which gave me an extra hour of tidying my office and finally sorting, packing and putting the Christmas decs away. Much appreciated, that hour.
