:hello: HappyNow! I'm guessing that you are on holiday this week, hope you are having a lovely time!

:hello: to Honey Bear & joeyjimbles too! Honey Bear, we have been back from holiday almost a week and I am still catching up on washing. I'm having to do just one load a day because it's a nightmare trying to get it dry with this rubbish weather we are having. joeyjimbles, your sleeping pattern sounds similar to mine, first I'm too hot then I'm too cold, noisy neighbours, noisy birds, waking in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep .

    Update for yesterday...

    1) To have 12 NCDs - Yay, another NCD bringing me to 6 NCDs for June. I'm expecting an online bakery order today though so the next couple of days are likely to be pretty rubbish :D.
    2) To walk an average of 10,000 steps per day over each week (so 70,000 total for each week) - Much better yesterday, almost 13,000 steps, I still have more to make up though.
    3) To put my light out by 11pm every night including weekends - Light out at 10.50pm but another rubbish nights sleep.

Hey there Happy! Hope the holibobs are going well if you're already away on them, or the packing is going well if you're not there yet.

Joey I'm with you about BoneyM but I'm so embarrassed about it I don't usually admit it in public. Cannot resist their nonsense because it always makes me happy.

Not sleeping. Huge issue. I still, after two years of diligent searching, haven't been able to find my 1 tog fevver duvet which is the only thing that keeps me warm enough but cool enough, and all ladies of a certain age will know exactly what I'm talking about. It was an absolute godsend during those years and as I folded it and put it away, thinking, hmm, that fits really neatly into that little space, mustn't forget where it is .... I've been back to the shop that sold it but they've never had any more for £20 and have you seen the price of them normally? :eek:

The other thing I've done which makes not sleeping a joy was to buy a very dented secondhand ipod (£25) and download a pile of interesting podcasts (free!) so that I have something lovely to listen to when I can't sleep, or wake up and can't get back to sleep. I heart my ipod. The more interested I am in hearing something the quicker I nod off, usually within five minutes. It takes me forver to get through a full one hour programme.

After listening to OH's total whinge-fest for what seemed like an hour at tea time yesterday I have now baked another batch of Ginger Twinks for him much against my better judgement and sampled them to ensure the quality is high enough. Thoroughly. A couple of days of joyous indulgence isn't going to kill you as long as you freeze most of it so you can't get at it in a hurry.

    2) To walk an average of 10,000 steps per day over each week (so 70,000 total for each week) - Much better yesterday, almost 13,000 steps, I still have more to make up though.

Poor old Kelpie is limping pretty much every time we take him out now, but I have high hopes that something from the cocktail of drugs he's on will kick in soon and he'll be skipping about again. He's as happy as ever so fingers crossed please. I don't know how anyone can be bothered to walk the full 10k stops without a doggo. How do you manage to persuade yourself to?

I hope it falls back into place for you soon, Dolphin, I really do. Insomnia's a nightmare.
    Better is good enough.

    Update for yesterday...

    1) To have 12 NCDs - A choux bun eaten so no NCD and still on 6 NCDs for June. I was actually very good and only got 2 choux buns and 4 individual cakes with my online order. The 4 individual cakes have been put in the freezer so after the other choux bun has gone today, I won't have any further temptation without having to think ahead and defrost something.
    2) To walk an average of 10,000 steps per day over each week (so 70,000 total for each week) - Another good day yesterday (just over 11,000 steps) but I think I'm going to struggle to get my average up to 10,000 a day with the weekend coming up. Honey Bear, the only way I can make up my 10,000 step count is by going for at least 2 short walks during the day so I usually force myself to go out once in a morning and once in the evening. If I can also find the motivation to go out after lunch for another short walk then I can exceed 10,000 easily. I can walk up to 3,000 around the house if I have a lot of housework to do so that also helps.
    3) To put my light out by 11pm every night including weekends - Light out at 10.45pm and slept through a bit better but still woke very early and couldn't get back to sleep.

    Update for yesterday...

    1) To have 12 NCDs - The other choux bun eaten so still on 6 NCDs for June.
    2) To walk an average of 10,000 steps per day over each week (so 70,000 total for each week) - Another good day yesterday (just over 11,000 steps again) but I need to do 23,000 steps over the weekend if I am to make my 70,000 for the week. A long walk planned for today but not sure about tomorrow.
    3) To put my light out by 11pm every night including weekends - Light out at 11.45pm but I did manage to get a lie in until 8.15am this morning so I'm starting to feel a bit better.

    Update for yesterday...

    1) To have 12 NCDs - 3 chocolates eaten so STILL on 6 NCDs for June.
    2) To walk an average of 10,000 steps per day over each week (so 70,000 total for each week) - Another good day yesterday (just over 11,000 steps again) but I now need to do 12,000 steps today if I am to make my 70,000 for the week. I wasn't planning on going for a walk today but it looks like I might have to. I just got off to such a bad start last Monday/Tuesday and I have been trying to make it up since. At least it's a new week from tomorrow.
    3) To put my light out by 11pm every night including weekends - Light out at 11.00pm and I almost managed to sleep through except for being woken up by some people coming home from their night out at 4.15am . I'm sure people don't realise how noisy they are when they have had a drink or more likely they just don't care :).

    :hello: HappyNow et al!

    Update for yesterday...

    1) To have 12 NCDs - None eaten so now on 7 NCDs for June :j.
    2) To walk an average of 10,000 steps per day over each week (so 70,000 total for each week) - The results are in... 61,085 for the week (8,726 per day on average) so didn't make my target but I had to make a lot up from Monday/Tuesday and I think I ended up doing more than if I hadn't tried so I'm happy with that :). New week starts today.
    3) To put my light out by 11pm every night including weekends - Light out at 9.45pm and despite waking up 11 times (according to Fitbit) I slept over 8 hours which is a record for me over the last few weeks :j.

Just dropping in to say that one of Kelpie's knees is causing some problems at the moment, so we're off to the chalet (no stairs) for four weeks of R&R. See you all when we get back, but in the mean time, have a few rah rahs to keep you going.
