Wow, you've all been busy :). And funny - very funny!

Thanks for the healing vibes for my dad. They seem to be working, for now at least. The night before last we thought we were going to lose him (and if he hadn't been in hospital I think we would have) but the wonderful doctors and nurses got him through it and he actually seems to be rallying a bit now. He won't be home for a while though, pneumonia is not nice.

With hospital visiting and supporting my mum, Fab Feb has taken a bit of a back seat, but I've not given up completely
    • Tight grip on the money. Daily YNAB balancing. Tick
    • Eat healthily and use Myfitnesspal. I'm eating better than usual but there have been a couple of chocolate episodes, one of them quite severe. I have sacked off MFP for now.
    • 5 F & V Daily I've done OK here apart from today. Just two today - and one of those was mushrooms in a fried egg sandwich :o
    • Only one sweet treat per day. Erm..... NO
    • Four glasses of water daily Not every day, no
    • Drink zero alcohol YES! 100% SUCCESS. Mainly because of my supreme and commendable self-control, but also because I might have to drive at short notice
    • Keep the house tidy and do an extra 15 mins daily cleaning Absolutely not! It is a bit of a !!!!-hole **hands £1 to Honey**
    • Stop biting my fingernails Not a good week for that
    • Have one non-tech day per week Not yet
    • Do something exercisey each day. Nah
A quick wave of the pom-poms and an accidental flash of my gym knickers to you all! You're doing great, keep it up :)

Edit - sneaked back in to nab the £1 back out of Honey's tin because my swear word got censored.
LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Lovely to hear from you Mrs HappyNow especially under the current circumstances. I'm sure Fab Feb is the last thing on your mind really but your post did make me laugh :D! Sending more healing vibes for your dad.

    Update for yesterday...

    1) None eaten :j.
    2) Just over 13,000 steps :j (but it is pouring down today so just hoping for a break in the weather so that I can get out for a bit).
    3) Light off at 11.30pm but it doesn't matter because it was Friday :j.
    4) No spends on other people :j.

    Good day yesterday :).

Dolphin, you're doing amazingly! Good on you. :j

If you're going to be visiting the hospital at unplanned times, is it worth keeping something edible in the car, Happy? I now keep a fork and a few ringpull tins of vine leaves (Lidl, dead cheap) stashed in the boot, along along with a stash of almonds or hazelnuts. I've found it particularly helpful because my general sloppiness means that I leave the house thinking I'll be back in time for lunch and then get caught up doing something. By 2.30 I'm so hungry I eat any rubbish I can lay my hands on, usually a sandwich - so doubly bad for me. Just a thought.

More *healing vibes* for Happy Pops, and a swift vote of thanks to the lovely NHS staff who work such wonders.

Hmm. I saw that raid on my tin. I'm going to get the springy mousetraps back from the chalet and glue one under the lid. The intention was there, it was just censored - so *smack* Other than that in the circumstances you're doing amazingly well.
    Better is good enough.

    • Meal plan from existing stocks as much as possible every week After years and years of not managing to do something so obviously necessary I can't believe how well this has worked. The beauty of using the calendar is that each month I can flick back and see what I've done in the past when I run out of ideas.
    • Clear desk gibble daily Done
    • Stop ****ing swearing. Fine £1 a word for each ****ing occurence £1 going in for yesterday and another, already, for today. Oooops.
    • Identify and contact five outlets for each working day in February, so that's 21 in all Er ....
    • 15 minutes s a day flying five days a week Er ....
    • No sugary stuff one day a week for the first week, two days a week for the second week, three days a week in Week 3 and four days a week in Week 4. Fancy that, the cake didn't go stale. Ongoing quality control.
    • No computer after 9.00 pm (except my ipod so that I can choose my night-time listening) and lights out by 11.30 pm Did this last night, still didn't wake up until 8.45. Just goes to show how quickly that missing half hour before midnight throws my bodyclock into chaos.
    • 5 fruit and veg a day Tick.
    • Electric toothbrush once a day. Done.
We have the rest of the mushrooms from the risotto earlier in the week, so the pizza shouldn't be as bad for us this week - thanks Dolphin.

    Update for yesterday...

    1) 5 individual chocolates eaten :o (from an amazing local chocolate shop so couldn't resist) but...
    2) Just over 10,000 steps :j (despite the rain I went out for a long walk and then when it stopped raining we popped into town for a few bits (ahem, including the chocolates).
    3) Light off at 12.30am  but it doesn't matter because it was Saturday :j (didn't make it out of bed until 9.30am this morning though).
    4) No spends on other people :j.

I think we can allow five special chocolates, especially as I've been doing something similar.
    • Meal plan from existing stocks as much as possible every week Went through the cupboard with tins and packets in last night. We've got rather a lot of custard and baked beans. so I'm wondering if there's a recipe that would use both. Haven't found one so far.
    • Clear desk gibble daily Done
    • Stop ****ing swearing. Fine £1 a word for each ****ing occurence If I had any squids left I'd put three in. Oooops.

    • No sugary stuff one day a week for the first week, two days a week for the second week, three days a week in Week 3 and four days a week in Week 4. Hopeless. Not a single day without sugary stuff, although I think I've come up with a wheeze that might work, once this cake is finished. I'm going to give up sugar for lent, other than on Sundays - which I said should be included, but that has been re-decided.
    • No computer after 9.00 pm (except my ipod so that I can choose my night-time listening) and lights out by 11.30 pm Hopeless.
    • 5 fruit and veg a day. Two - tomatoes and the pizza mushrooms. Typical Saturday, basically, followed by chocolate cake for breakfast today. Two slices. Hopeless.
    • Electric toothbrush once a day. Done.
 I hope all is calm in the Land of Happy.

If you do find a recipe, you can keep it to yourself, bleurgh!

Well, that's a big jump from the original plan, good luck with that :).

I may be popping into town again today but I'll stay out of the chocolate shop ;).

    Update for yesterday...

    1) Resisted more individual chocolates but ended up having a piece of chocolate roulade with cream :o.
    2) Just over 8,000 steps :j (it was a struggle though, I had to force myself out for an additional walk).
    3) Light off at, ahem, 3.30am  (we have a tradition of staying up to watch the superbowl every year despite the fact that we never watch any other american football match ever :D good game though and the half-time show was pretty good too).
    4) No spends on other people :j.
