Not a bad start but really craving something sweet today. I can resist (I hope).

Good job on the meal planning. Hope you have managed to build lots of f&v in to the meal plan. Most of our evening meals incorporate lots of f&v so we rarely have problems eating plenty. For example, last night was chilli with red pepper, onion, tinned tomatoes and tinned red kidney beans (apparently beans & pulses can count as one but no more of your 5 a day) followed by a bowl of melon, strawberries and blueberries, seven f&v in one meal :A.

Well, Day 1 went superbly, all targets hit.

Yesterday looked to be going the same way, until lunchtime when I got a call to say my dad was being admitted to hospital. I spent all afternoon/evening at the hospital with him, eating just what I could forage from the vending machine, which was purely chocolate and crisps. So I ate crap and fingernails all day, and by the time I got home it was 2:00 am - up for work as usual today at 5:45. So that was all nine/ten targets hosed apart from 'no alcohol', which was unusually easy! And if I'd joined Honey in her 'no swearing' one I'd have f***ing destroyed that one too :D. Anyway, the upshot is that he will be in hospital with pneumonia for a few days and I will be starting Fab Feb again today.

Well done Dolphin and Honey. RAH RAH RAH

    • Meal plan from existing stocks as much as possible every week Meal plan abandoned and I took OH out for dinner after a long a boring meeting. Saved me making the bean burgers, too.
    • Clear desk gibble daily Done
    • Stop ****ing swearing. Fine £1 a word for each ****ing occurence I had to put a crispy fiver in this morning. Ooops.

    • No computer after 9.00 pm (except my ipod so that I can choose my night-time listening) and lights out by 11.30 pm Done, I think. Not too sure because I couldn't be bothered to check the time.
    • 5 fruit and veg a day Again, more fruit than veg, sort of front end loaded because I start the day with porridge with added sultanas and dates.
    • Electric toothbrush once a day. Done.
Thanks Dolphin for the info on pulses etc. I make a mean bean burger and love home made soup and root veg, so when I get around to cooking we're not too shabby on keeping the numbers up. However, weekends can be really terrible - pizza, boiled eggs and bacon sarnis are regular fare, so I need to over compensate during the week just in case we have a really indulgent weekend.

Throw a few mushrooms in with that bacon sarnie and add some veggies to that pizza and you'll be sorted :D.

Weirdly, I do the same, i.e. overcompensate during the week, as I'm usually too knackered by the end of the week to make as much effort. Meals on Friday and Saturday nights tend to be more lazy (Pizza Express/takeaways/stuff out of the freezer :D) but Sunday is usually a roast dinner with lots of veg.
