    Thanks for the comments :)

The charity IS wonderful and the work they do in their own field (animals, but not horses) is magnificent. I wish I could promote them here because they deserve it, but it would completely blow my cover :D.
    Bit of a spendy day:
    • £27 for a haircut after work, and yet again I told her to keep the change from my £30 :(. I'm never really sure of hairdresser-tipping protocol and I know her mum!
    • Paid the vet £20.71 for three cat wormers. I normally buy tablets online, but our oldie turns very feisty/violent if we try to make him eat tablets so I decided on the spot-on stuff, which has to be prescribed. It is more expensive, but there was considerably less bloodshed (mine, not the cat's - I'm no match for him!) and at least he is successfully wormed; the tablets always end up in and out of the cat several times then eventually dissolve on the floor.
    • 80p for a Fry's Chocolate Cream. It's my new thing :o

oohhhh yesssssss they certainly do....:D. I had my first one since about 1986 a couple of months ago. Little Miss Happy had converted (briefly) to full veganism and those are one of just a few vegan choccie bars. I've barely stopped eaten them since, totally given up Smarties! Apparently they still make the Fry's Peppermint Cream too, but I haven't seen those for years.

Time for a little 'research' I think.

B&M Bargains or Home Bargains have them from time to time. But watch the short dates on some - I'm not a date freak but I expect the squidgy fondant might dry out if it were too far passed the BB.

Even dried out it will still be yumptious, won't it? And sugar being a presevative I expect it would still be safe months if not years after. I'm trotting down to a very old-fashioned sweet shop later to see what they sell in the way of Fry's generally. (Can't let a good thing pass me by.)

    See what you've started, Happy?

I expect it would still taste good - more like a Bendicks Bettermint perhaps? - but it might not be as satisfying. All depends on personal taste. I don't like chocolate so that wouldn't be my thing - but you can pass me the Sports Mix or Wine Gums (as long as they are the traditional hard Lion or Squirrel brands),Tortilla Chips and Salsa, Chili-spiced nuts....the list goes on. I really haven't got a handle on this diet thing yet this month.

Hey Mrs HappyNow, are you still on for Fab Feb 16? If so, I'll get my thinking cap on for Monday. :)

They do! I have a bar of each, downstairs on the kitchen table, waiting for me when I get overwhelmed by my next sugar or chocolate craving. I may have to hide them to discourage indulgence, because seeing them seriously kicks it off.

Sorry for the latest long absence, it's been a busy few days. Both my parents have been ill (my dad still is), and Mr H's mum has fallen and broken her arm. It's been a constant round of visiting, caring, supporting and general plate-spinning. It'll be the same for a bit longer, but hopefully at a slower pace now the urgent stuff is done.

I've taken my eye off the financial ball a bit, but no serious harm done because there's not been time for much spending. Tomorrow I will get the bank accounts in order and YNAB balanced. And maybe tidy the house a bit. Or maybe not.
